those paints of w b hands sharks are great - they were great in pencil too, but you've added an extra something. Nice one. No crits here unfortunately, just keep doing what you're doing!

Nice work on the shark heads, strong colors.
Like the energy in the Monkey King sketch with your linework too, and the colors worked well. Reminds me a bit of Guy Davis, but not obvious at all!

Hey, thanks for your comment on my sketchbook, I really appreciate you dropping by.

If you don't mind a bit of advice, I'd like to point out that I see a lot of highlights in your colour work; also, a heavy usage of hues (also shades) containing a high chroma, especially in the darker zones. You see, I was once told that more often than not, it is the greys, or the tones, that make the image. The dark sets off the light; similarly, the greys make the other hues look 'colourful'. The contrast lies not in a battle of bright hues, but in a juxtaposition of the 'colourful', or the 'bright', with the 'grey', or the 'dark'. If you can, do get a copy of Creative Illustration by Andrew Loomis, and read the relevant chapter on colour. It is easily available on the net.

I have rambled for far too long I am afraid, and my intention was never to test your patience to begin with. So I apologize if my comments offend you in any way. Lastly, I want to say that I really like the faces at the top of this image.

    Keep updating.

Psychobuddy - thanks man! yea, the coloring sort of evolved quite a bit, probably why it looks so messy ha.

Noamos - thank you very much man! that really means alot!

Ven S - ha thanks! yes, her chesticles are cannon sized!

paulanderson7070 - thanks! but, logo design is something ive always hated... but thanks!

Vritra - not a ramble at all! i appreciate it very much! and i do tend to jump up to stark white (nearly white) highlights on almost every surface i paint! i have no clue why. i guess its just from a lack of real surface material studies. which i desprately need to do. i guess thats my next goal, if school doesnt get in the way. thanks alot man, i apprecaite it!!

    --------

i need alot of practice with mechas and shit

    Hey Nicky,
Very cool color job, really neat to see my sketch taken into your style and opaque paint, and a great little touch with the head study next to the figure in pushing your values back to recede into the background. You're too kind my man! I've got a lot to live up to now with all those props, I'll try not to disappoint There were some thoughtful observations about color use too, very helpful so I won't bother repeating. It can get confusing sometimes when you're getting into stylistic interpretations, color use for different moods and intents, etc., but an easy fix is to scale back the opacity on some highlights away from the dominant area where the subject is bathed in the light source. All that said, I kinda like your use of the paint in the study, but that's simply a subjective note(and not just because it's on my sketch Those little highlights kind of guide the eye around the figure. You're also very fast! Wish I was that quick. Either way, thx for sharing!
