Great character designs, man. Love the wolwie mini comics. Do more.

Last enviro looks good. Maybe you should try silhuating the character, and doing a more backlit scene. Could improve mood.

    The mentalpatient/tentacle guy is nice.

Also I was thinking about your tendency to make characters lean towards the left - do you ever flip the image horizontally? (if not you should I think, or my pieces would all be a lot worse than they are if I didn't as I tend to fuck up faces esp. if I just paint without flipping).

I really like that in programs like Sai or myPaint (dunno about painter, and opposed to Photoshop) that the current centre of the piece remains as you flip.

So I do it ALL the time

flip flip flip flip ~ (H in sai, something else in myPaint and it also has a hotkey for vertical as default, but I assume you use Photoshop).

Anyway good lines in the last piece - I like the angry man with the open hand ~ (leaning left , even the house do )

I like the top central fighter - nice pose and line work - and overall good studies.

Blanka is nice - albeit feels perhaps a bit stiff (but cool anyway).

I kind of like the faces on the last one - esp. the guy to the right - the centre one also works but I think the cloth feels a bit stiff - as do the hands (is it the hands of the other two, or does he have hands for pouldrons?

Anyway they don't lean (or at least not as much - a tiny bit with Blanka and the guy in the middle )

Coming along fucking winningly (new word, trademarked!), especially love the use of value with the lighter hands against the dark of the cape, those hands are very well painted as well.
I do have a few crits, compositionally having the 3 pointy hats at pretty much the same level is bugging me, I'd suggest carving down the 2 receding ones so the central one is tallest. Also as a purely personal preference, I think the noses of the 2 background characters would look better a bit more prominent and pointy :p

Love it though, your linework and energy continue to bemuse me
    Other than that, love it

dan liimatta - thanks man! those are old woman- not men. haha. buts thats ok, because they are supposed to be ancient.. as old as time.

danlambert - thanks a bunch man!! really appreciate the crit! - i felt the same way about the hats being at the same level. i tried to fix that.

    Good work in here.

I think the shading on the lower left and lower right of the front woman's hood is causing it to look flat. It's also pretty much straight horizontal, which adds to the effect.

If you showed a little more of the underside of the hood and had some reflected light catch in it, you might be able to pull off the depth illusion better.

    Cheers and have fun

i saw a cool post on an art blog, and the artist had a stack of his traditional sketchbooks on his desk. i thought it would be a cool idea for other artists to do this also. heres a few crappy iphone pictures of my stack! 42 of em!! i was surprised at how many i had, and everyone is filled from end to end. and this isnt even including the one that i gave to my brother, or the one i gave to my sister.
