On another note those studies look really really great! There may be a lot of hatching, but its done professionally so it looks great. Awesome work amigo, I need to get back into bridgman again myself.

nothing finished, just a sketch with some values, and flat color on a multiply layer. i started working over it, but it wasnt looking too good so i gave up on it. i still have trouble trying to paint areas like the stomach, and around the ribs, it always ends up looking too seperated. i gotta do some more value studies from referances.

another study. this one took a bit longer, because its more realistic (hopefully). the original piece is entitled; "Carolina", by Jacob Collins. his work is amazing, very photorealistic rendering. i botched a couple of things on her, but overall im pretty happy about it.

this is graphite on pastel paper, and heightened with white pencil.

Looking better with each post! Rafael looks awesome, as does nibru. Your penmanship on the bridgman studies is really nice, I should do some more studies in straight pen. Keep it up amigo, your works looking great!

i have to do 5 paintings or drawings from observation for my portfolio for school. ive never attempted a still life before because i usually hate drawing from referance. but now that i have to, its time to get my ass in gear. so this is number one so far, its this beerstein i got in innsbruck austria. i know it looks sloppy still, but its only a work in progress. i still have alot of tightening up to do.

im trying to give my action panels more of a manga feel to them. i love the emotion and speed of manga action sequences, and hopefully can learn to bring some of that to my work. this isnt finished obviously, but im like falling asleep on my keyboard right now, so ...yea.

the top one is the new one i just started, the rest are older pages that i thought could get chucked in here.

started the final project for one of my classes. its a short comic story, here are the thumbs for the first 5 pages. sorry for even posting this now that i look at it, its really messy and unrefined. but that will quickly change, so bear with me for now. i dont want to reveal the dialogue or story until the art is finished, so it may seem odd. i will say they are in a prison holding cell, somewhat in the future, and that the guy who is alone at first is a master martial artist. then the kid gets chucked in too, and the guy is reminded of himself long ago. . . . is that good or bad for this kid?? youll have to wait and see!

You have a real knack for dynamic poses and exaggerated gestures which is excellent for the comic style you have! Wouldn't mind seeing some more of your life studies because of that. You're obviously improving in many areas, not sure what advice I could offer other than keep at it man! Love the work!
