You have gotten better since I saw your SB last - although I still recommend you working more w/ perspective/rotating the camera. It will really improve your ability in the long run.

this guy has desert lighting on him, like bright lighting, so hopefully you understand why he is so bright... although i should probably imply some desert bg or something...

awesome nicky! Really love the design.
He's not too bright imo, i agree with u a desert bg would help sell the idea. U could just color the bg it shouldnt take too long to do.
The only thing i would crit is the anatomie esp. the face. A good face can really improve the whole impression.
I did a small overpaint i hope that is k? If not just tell me and i gonna delete it .
I Didnt changed alot in the face its just blending, u dont need all the little bumps it just makes him look rather old. Dropshadow and the "local values" (i dont know if its called like that, but its the same principle like with local colors) should be enough to give the impression that its a face.

Lakai - man! thanks so much for that!! really appreciate you taking the time! the face looks a million times better too, much more smooth. the character does live in a rough desert environment, so i may leave a little of the rough lines on his face, but i think a good mix between your version and mine should work! thanks again dude!!

Great studies mate!! nice use of soft transitions in the portrait, contrasting with some hard edges.
the hands, i love !!![maybe work in that way in some of your works]. Keep up working the values. Do studies on tones , search which are the basic tones etc. Try to paint objects around you as simplified masses [ok if something is cube then do it as it is but with simplified value range, not the inbetween transitions]. You will improve your understanding of 3d forms and how to simplify them in different planes

Cool stuff yo I like your characters, but I think they're poses are a bit stiff. Some gesture studies would probably help, but yea overall good stuff. Also, keep udating this regurarly I like seeing your stuff.
