keep it up man glad your still flying on with work!
To hell with circumstances; I create opportunities.
LtPlissken - ha thanks! -all in good time!
NyeAlexandaFrayne - thanks man!!
my painter program has shit the bed on me. not so happy about that. no more digital work for a while unfortunately...
you sir, are a MANIAC!!
In what time period did you make those sketchbooks, a year, 5 years, 4 months, what time are we talking about here? I don't like how lazy you make me feel
But my finals are over, i'll catch up to you... some day!!
Anyways, i really like the Bison sketch but eventhough they're just sketches you have to mind the anatomy, guile for example is very "wobbly" (that's a word right?) Bison works better ebcause of his simplicity, sometimes it's better to just give the gesture of muscles instead of doing it overdetailed.
just stopped by to say hello, its been awhile. 42 sketchbooks?! Is that since the beginning of your drawing career? I wish I would keep mine.... I usually get disgusted after like a few months and give them away or toss them (I know I am trying to stop).
Some crits for ye': I think you should do a lot of study from life, I probably say that a lot lol sorry if it's getting repetitive. I still study from life as much as I can even though I don't have a lot of time to do so and I feel that every time I do it helps. Lastly, take your time with things even if you feel like its taking a long time. That aside its always so impressive to see how far you come! I love the graeae(sp.?) a couple pages back they look really creepy. Are some of those drawings you post done on photoshop?
Lav - haha these are all of the sketchbooks ive ever had. the oldest is from when i was about 12 i think. so just about 13 years worth of drawing there.
Rotor - ha thanks man! - i think i actually wrote something like that on one of my last sketch pages to myself haha.
bpic - bite your tongue!!! you throw away your sketchbooks??! i still have my oldest one!! like i said to lav, these are all of my old sketchbooks, since i was about 12 or so. i should scan some of those old pages haha youd get a kick out of it. thanks for the tips too man! much abliged!
felt like submitting something for Chelsea's plushy contest. design your own Monstah!!! check here for details!!!!
PS - my painter is working again! -went through hell to fix it, and it turned out all i had to do is hold the shift key while starting it, and reset my workspace! god damn painter!!!!

Man! I like that you are not shy! You try very bold design with tough poses. I really like that. This last demon is great! Very good work on the anatomy as well.
I am also loving your pencil drawings. Great rendering.
gillzManiju - thanks alot man! i appreciate that!
p sage - respect. cheers dude!
Hellfire - wow, thanks a bunch man!!!
heres some random cartoony head sketches. and i painted that demon guy up.
some really cool work in here! keep it up!
That demon guy is all
Way to go!
hey man, good job on the heads, the real deal is having them connect adequatly to the body :] that`s where it gets tougher
zombie dude is cool, his pants do not fold like pants rather like he`s mumified in `em.
he looks like a gamer though - his right arm hurts from repetetive stress injury from clicking away on a mouse all night :]
also watch out with the white "rim" light creeping inwards from his silhouette (google spell checked :0 ) you`ve added that and on top of it a darker outline.
The form turns there making it softer - like the sides of a barrel, but right now you`ve
flattened him significantly. let me know if that makes sence or not - i can explain it better by drawing it i promise :]
HomicidalManda - hey, thanks man!!
Phade01 - thanks alot man!!
PxelSlayer - haaha
Mattinian - first off- huge thanks for stopping in here! i am a HUGE fan!! and i think i see what you mean about the rim lighting, i was planning on erasing the darker outline, but forgot to. if you wanna take a shot at an overpaint id appreciate that greatly! thanks again!
rough idea sketch for an illustration im gonna be doing for . the challenge is to illustrate an image based on some of your favorite song lyrics. two of my favorite things are music and art, so im pretty excited about this.
the song i chose was "Immigrant Song" by one of my all time favorite bands Led Zeppelin.
Hey Nick, you mind checkin out this weekly comic im starting? Iv been on DA allot since I've been busy and their much easier to please with work that I can manage to fit into my schedule http://medusoid-m.deviantart.com/gallery/30932534 working on pg 3 right now
Thanks Nicky, yeah I got that a few times, oh and now I feel like a jerk. I meant to tell you how freakin sweet your norseman looks. One thing tho, his helmet almost looks like its part of his chair, I have no clu how to fix it but you might wana add some sense of space between his helmet and the chair
good luck and thanks again man
Medusoid - thanks man! dont worry im all over it! its still a wip, like i said.
MBK - thanks man!!
mock x men cover. for some reason, they are all apprehensive.
Been a long time since I've been here. You have improved a lot in a years time dude. Very nice line work and your knowledge of anatomy has also improved. All in all dude, your kickin' some ass. Keep it up.

Yo Nicky - Way to keep at it. You progression is really starting to ramp up! On this page in particular, your rendering chops and line work have really taken a few steps in the right direction. Lovin the sketch page on 1282 and the final render you did in 1273 of the mutant demon character. The life in your characters also really starting to show through.
My two cents would be to continue to experiment with various kinds of edges. Use razor sharp and soft edges alike, and everything else in between to accurately describe your forms. For instance, on the king/throne piece, I'd try maintaining some of the soft edges you had in your early wip, while also bringing in some of the harder edges you did later on.
Great stuff. Hope to see more.
Lav - haha yup! in fact, this post is dedicated to you. (you asked for these haha)
Medusoid - haha thanks!
palladium - yea man, long time no see! haha hows it going?
Nickodemus - thanks a ton man!! much appreciated!!
ok, since Lav was aking to see some of my ooooold sketches from my ancient sketchbooks, i thought id flip through them and scan some shit in for yall!!!
this is just AWFUL. but remember, its OLD!!!
these next two are next to eachother in the spiral bound book.
ok thats enough of that crap! back to real art soon...
