Red face On the Job Hunt and Some New Art ! *Replies*

    Howdy Folks,

I'm currently looking for a full-time position in the San Francisco and surrounding areas within the fields of Visual Development/Concept Art. If you know of anything that might be a good fit I'd sure appreciate the help :) I've got almost two and a half years experience on 4 titles and am also extremely passionate <3

contact me at thomasscholes at gmail.com

I've been really enjoying art once again after a few very dormant months and as a result I have been doing about a personal painting a day as well as a few doodles here and there on top of everything else. It's been really fulfilling to expand and explore a bit further than I have been able to lately.

Anyhow, here are a few recent paintings. Some are more finished than others and all could use another layer of polish and refinement but it's time to move on and focus on other weaknesses.

I truely believe that you are on to something with the way you execute your paintings. I always feel refreshed when I look at your paintings. You seem to be developing your own flair with the way you paint. For some reason this really soft edge and really moody pieces work really well. Thanks for sharing as always. Good luck with the hunt, Tom.

I think you would get more concept work if your environments had more sharpness or definition. Basically more detail and rendering to make the backgrounds look more 3D and less abstract. That's just a guess on my part.

Your inclusion of the human figures do well to provide a sense of scale, but without the figures I'm not sure that your environments would stand alone as well as they should. Maybe it's a preference on my part, but I think they should be a bit more photorealistic, depending on what it is you wish to accomplish.

    PieMonster: Thank you!

Noah Bradley: Thanks! I almost didn't include that one oddly enough, it's a bit older and a little more unfinished than the others in some aspects but I still like it

ColumbusSage: Thank you kindly! Might be my favorite too! If I wasn't busy I'd be painting another in that series.

Dished: Hehehe, thanks dawn! Yeah I sure hope so! When you headed out?

DanielC: Hehehe, I will try my friend! How've you been? How's the job?

Mock: Awwwwwwww, you are too sweet Carmen! You are headed up to SF too right?

pringle: Thanks Mr. Pringle! Means a lot and I am a big fan of your work myself

Darktwin: Hey dude! How you been? Would be good to hang out if things go according to plan Thanks for the kind words!

Beelow: Damn! That is some high praise dude! Thank you kindly!

FranciscoShreds: Hehe I'm not technically out of work yet; just looking for options Thanks for the kind words!

    10thWay: Thank you!

Mark Tarrisse: Awww ! Better than Folgers?! Thanks dude!

    Lotet: Heheh thanks!

Dahami: Yay critique! Thanks for the advice, I think you are spot on for the most part though some of it is of course relative to what the project is I thinks.

robinchyo: Thank you friend ! Hahah, I like that; so odd... makes me really want to push that idea.

Mr.Delicious: Hehehe, thanks dude! Do you have dental benefits?

towy: Thank you! Yup, these are all 100% photoshop.

    andrewkim: Thank you kindly!

Lord Edwin: Haha, I like that! Thanks so much!

pao: Thanks pao! Love your art
