Good work on the other figures, however, try to minimize the cartoon look when drawing faces/the human figure.
Sorry I didn't see you there.

Thanks a lot and I will try my best to better the faces. That's why I'm doing portraits now Also there's a reason to why I did that in one of them, it was around 3 or 4 am and I was super tired and since I focused on the body, I kinda left the head out.

    But yeah, I'll better hopefully.

    Thanks for the comment!

It's been a while since I did a traditional painting. I had fun drawing this one, mostly because I love gas masks I guess.

There's no real story behind the title. I just wanted to add some kind of contrast.

It's sad that cameras screw things up a bit but it almost looks equally good in the photo as in real life.

    Done with acrylic paints.

Hmm, interesting. You said there was no reason for doing this one, which is hard to believe. It looks like something from Fallout 3...
    Anyways, professional cap is on.
    1. Color scheme is good
    2. Mask looks squished, but sometimes its hard to work with acrylic paints, I know from experiences..try doing a copy and incorporate more things into it.
    * Look for negative space, try not to crowd everything.
    * Try and do individual colors first. Like the background for example, its green, so do the entire thing with green first, then do the foreground. Let both dry, and then do the character in the middle. This will minimize the edge smearing you get from your colors mixing with the others, like on the left shoulder and mask.

    Good Job though!

Thank you for your comment, it was very helpful!
Also the thing about Fallout 3; I'm not surprised. I've been heavily influenced by video games since I saw a interview with a few concept artists for God of War and I've always liked the stuff from Fallout.

Thanks again for the comment, it's appreciated!

hai! I like your cartoony stuff and great job on the paining in post #37 and 36 (really like your first painting there). Your studies are looking good as well tho i would say the famile in you last studies has very wide shoulders which gives her a bit of masculin look, but keep up the good job

You got some good stuff going on here man. It seems like you're studyng more now, and that's great. Your 1 minute poses are nice.

Fortsätt såhär och du kommer märka av förbättring på några veckor!

From your first Drawing to your last, one can see a huge improvement. You have a really great appreciation for studying the figure, and you can tell it pays off. Your colored stuff has a great palette to it. I would recommend doing some studies of some classic artists. I have been trying that and it has helped me see the composition as a whole. Keep it up and thanks for the advice on my sketchbook.

miycko: Thanks! Yeah I have a tendency of making people too short. I think it comes from the cartoony stuff I used to do. I hope my newer stuff is heading in the right direction!

Spaggen: Yeah I'm studying a lot right now. Tack för kommentaren

IronFistGoon: Thanks! Yeah I need to study some "master" people I've been thinking of doing it, I've just been busy with all this anatomy stuff that I forgot about it haha.

Here's some hand studies I was told to do on another forum. I'll do more of these 3d model studies later. It's all from posemaniacs and it's great because I can actually twist the model stuff around so that I can almost sculpt the stuff I study.

Commission for my brother. He wanted a close up for a maple story character of his.

I need to work with the skin tone a bit. Else that I'm happy with it.

I tried to record my progress but the program decided to be mean so.. yeah, better luck next time.

Looking back at this now, I don't really like it.

A giant I did for the "War of the Giants" project. Read more about it here: [link] Join the fun!

I'm (obviously) on the side of evil. So here's a contribution to the project.

I'm not quite sure if I like this design or not but it was an interesting process. Still practicing with the coloring, I've never colored with overlay.

The sketching part was most fun!

Good stuff you're doing here Loathsome. It's also cool to see you're learning different things at a time, I think it helps to keep things interesting. For now I can see great improvement but you'll really have to keep pushing yourself. Keep questioning yourself. If you think something isn't right, find out what is wrong and study it again till you understand/are able to draw it correct.

But you're doing great, so keep going!

Hey everyone out there in artland (hah sounded cheesy). I'm sorry for being inactive. I haven't felt like posting my stuff and I haven't scanned my sketches.. but I will later today so I'm going to drop a huge fuckin' bomb yo!

Here's some of this mornings anatomy work (and a warmup sketch, kinda liked the left one).

My scanner makes my sketches a bit contrasty so it's slightly over exposed..

Master study is next but I'm probably going to work on it more than 2.5 hours so I'll post it when it's done... maybe some wips WHO KNOWSSS

    Keep it ill!
