Been working on this for about 5 hours now, not completely happy with it, please let me know what you think.

Let rip please, I really am keen to improve.

I know the robe is very wrong and the roses are crap.

This is the type of piece where you NEED reference. It may sound weird but take of picture of yourself doing this pose with a sheet or whatever around you to represent the robe. Even put light where you have the lamp so you have realistic lighting. Overall he does appear fairly flat, and again thats where reference comes in. Light is what sculpts the shapes we see, and studying light and how it interacts with things is very important. Btw I think the roses are fine

used a little bit of reference, but none for the robe, will definitely try what you said in the future.
