Holy cow, arenanet must have one of the best art teams in the world.
Mmmm.... Art book... Unfortunately, I'll be working this weekend (down in Tukwila). Maybe you guys can come by and drop one off for me.
Otherwise, I'll buy one later, or get it with the Collector's Edition of Guild Wars 2 next year!
Keep up the great work!
A quick question, the art section on Guildwars2.com shows 'The Art of Guild Wars 2'. Even saying that it is a must-have, which tricks me into wanting this item. The problem is, where can I buy it?
*also, keep up the great art guys, loving every piece*
I second that, I want this book BAD. When and how can I get my hands on it? The Guild Wars 2 site isn't very clear at all. It just says "must have" but doesn't give the customer anyway of ordering it, pre-ordering it or even a coming soon or release date. More info please. Don't be so coy you guys.
Incredible stuff ! ... thats all i can say![]()
Fantastic work! really outstanding.

Hey, I'm a long time fan of all of your work. I've saved all your images under folders with your names. I'm curious which of you painted these here. Is each artist posting his own personal contributions? Are these paintings all group collabs? What's the process?
It'd be great to know who painted which images. Thanks!

Love seeing how Daniels work of infinite space has influenced Kekai's all ready powerful work. Amazing works guys, always humbling.

Wow these last few are on an entirely different level than the others. The atmosphere they are creating is stunning. Also, the color is fabulous. I'm really excited to see more. Thanks so much for posting it. If the art is any reflection of the game (which the last one was), it will stand alone for sure!
Mmm, eyecandy... =)
Great work guys! Post more!
Take a look at:
My skechbook[updated: 01-18-2010]
A F*****G scary blog!!!
MY NEW ANIMATION - "BASEMENT"
Here's a couple pieces I did for GW2 that are on the cover of the most recent Imagine FX... The cover is a fold out of the ring architecture piece and the flip side is the spherical building piece. If you have a subscription you'll see the image on the cover a lot better as the news stand version is covered top to bottom in headlines.
the third piece is a straggler from the last GW2 media dump, called "No-Man Band."
Thanks for the nice words so far, glad you guys enjoy the work, we enjoy your comments!

The Art of Guild Wars 2
"The Art of Guild Wars 2 is a hardbound book packed with 128 pages of eye candy by ArenaNet's award-winning artists. The vivid collection of concept art offers a long-awaited glimpse into the world of Guild Wars 2. Within these pages you'll visit the undead realm of Orr, meet the mysterious sylvari, and behold the fiery war machines of the charr. This book is a must-have for any Guild Wars fan."
Here's the cover to the art book, and it's quite neat! Daniel (Tinfoil) composed it. It's made up of a ton of cool line art and sketches by a lot of the guys and gals here... maybe they'll post some for ya!!! (Matt, Levi, Jaime, Rich...) The text stuff as well as the entire book layout was done by the super talented Mr. Andrio Abero! The book really does look fantastic and Andrio took the art direction and ran with it keeping the layout both stylish and clean. We'll post a couple of product shots soon as we get a release date!
Show up to PAX if you can, we're signing and handing out a lotta books!

Can this get any cooler? How far will it go? Pure, sweet magic![]()
amazing stuff, but the cover is super-adorable
I love the line-art you've made so much
Tinfoil, you've done a couple of GW2 pieces with some nice water reflections (i.e., the iceberg city). Something I don't recall seeing in your art for the first game (at least, not as prominently). The mirror-like reflection helps the realism by creating a sense of where the water surface is and makes the whole scene look more 3D.
I enjoy your artwork for the colors, shapes, and use of lighting, but I think you could use more touches like the water reflections to make your environments easier to interpret visually in terms of things the viewer can understand and relate to. That makes it seem less abstract.
I'll definitely be following this thread, and I look forward to playing the game and perusing the art book at some point.
