    Hi there.
Was just checking out your sketchbook, strong stuff in here. You're definitly on the right track for a good life with art.

Was just reading that your participating in UKM. Awesome, I used to help arrange those things about 6-7 years ago. So its cool to hear that they're still rolling.

By the way, we're thinking about having a sketchmeet in Gothenburg the 20th, 21st of march. Check out the scandinavian thread. Would be cool to trade some lines.

    Cheers!

Edit: By the way, been looking through some more pages, great dragons, good gesture in them. And nice handling of colour and mood.

Metal Fingers - Thanks man, I'll keep that about lineconfidence in mind. And yeah it's Windsor Newton. I really like them.

    Witcrack
    - haha thanks!

    Kingkostas - Thank you!

Pencilator - Yeah UKM is going strong I think, didn't know it was that old haha, cool! I'll see if I can join in on that meet. It's preeettty far away but yeah, would be awesome!

Thanks everyone! Today I've had the shittiest day.. waking up far too late, and been in a really heavy mood all day. Think I've worked the stupid salmonmoose for 3 hours and arh so many mistakes.. earlyrender, lack of values.. I dont even want to show it Havn't been able to draw at all, minimal progress on the photostudy and an anatomy page is all I have.
I'm sure tommorow will be a kickass drawday! On monday I'll find out how it went with my paintings.
    Cheers for now!

Congratz on the workshop invite! Do you know what topic you're going to do it on?

Nice to see some blues in the salmonmoose too.

Dooood, you just gotta push through it, the salmon moose could benefit from some broader, confident brush strokes to really block in that form. I'd give you an asspat but I think I've given out enough on this thread.

The Salmon Moose creature looks cool, I hope you will continue to work on that piece as I would love to see it with more detailed rendering. Even as a basic render it looks good as you can gain a sense of what it might become.

Nightblue - Thanks! yeah these studies really are paying off!

    Noro -

Pixie Trick - Thanks, topic is all up to me... arh!

Metal Fingers - Stop being so awesome! haha yeah.. crap. I'll rework the salmonmoose. It was a project gone astray.

Dessinateurimpulsif - Thanks, you most definitely have this ability. You havn't explored it yet.

Fiddzy - I will re-work it. This was enough to nail the concept though.

Thanks veryone! I've been slacking off.... just been thinking a lot, which in turn handicapped my artwork.
Anyhow, my paintings made it to the regionals. Cool. And, I've got some info about the workshop. Basically they give me unlimited freedom. This is difficult because I've been given approx. 2 hours, and I have to use them wisely.
I know what the workshop is going to be about.. I've got no idea what kind of people will attend but I've been talking to some friends about what they think is cool.
I'm gonna be talking about drawing creatures from imagination. I asked myself, what kind of workshop would I like to attend when I was younger, and yeah that popped up! Also I think it's something people of all ages can find some interest in. Plus.. I love creating creatures awesome!

If you, in theory, were to attend to a 2 hour workshop held by me where I go through creating awesome things like dragons! arh!! and such.. anything specific you would like me to go through? anyone had any experience with workshops before? Any ideas more than welcome

Finished my photosudy, I had so much trouble finding the right girl's features in that shady area I kinda haxxed. Not much to showcase.. Had some bad days haha.
BTW, Gnomon workshop have a monthly challenge going on, this months theme is Nordic Mythology! kickaasssss.
I have to start finishing stuff! christ.. I have so much wip floating around. Enough whine from me, cheers!

Damn you and your naked pictures lol. I hate that at school, anything that has to do with being naked you can't look at because they think its porn of some sort. lol the naked girl scared me because the teacher was right behind me when I looked over it. Anyway that dragon in progress looks hella awesome. Happy Trails

Really digging that last dragon, I think the wing membranes and maybe the head crest could benefit from some wild crazy coloring. I said it in the dagger thread but that photostudy is getting all kinds of sexy. As far as the workshop goes, I've done a couple for fantasy sculpting at some local stores here in town, if you're going to be doing a more handson workshop make sure to keep the material and subjects accessible to all skill levels attending, that and make it as fun as possible. I brought in beers and soda for errbody.

Diarum - Haha I'm sorry mate maybe I should put a NSFW .. thanks!

Metal Fingers - Thanks for the info man, soda sounds awesome. I'm still thinking of how to make it as much fun as possible. Not everyone likes to draw.. maybe clay too? hehe. Cheers!

Phizpietl - Thanks! I had a look at your blog and website.. insane stuff! Love your sketches!

    Rushlord
    - Haha thanks!

Thank you everyone. I forgot how fun pencils are! been doing too much digital stuff.. Here's some studies. Also went to lifedrawing today, nude model for 2 hours 45 min. Varying poses from 2 to 15 minutes. I added background shading afterwards (nope I don't sketch that fast ). Too bad the poses weren't longer. I was really geting into the shading.
    Laters (arh uploading takes forever!)

*edit* wow.. scanner really ruins the hb shade

This is really strange, somehow my post didn't update the sketchbook testing testing. My internet has been really weird, hopefully not creating infinite loopholes dooming mankind into damnation.

is the post containing all the sketches visible?

wonderful update dude, lots and lots of studying going on here, how many of the figure stuff is from the head? I've started doing a lot of figure's from ref and such like these and have found it very beneficial to draw a couple from the ref and then draw a couple from head, bouncing back and fourth. Keeeeeeeeep ittt uppp yo! And word on the HB dissaperaing in the scans, I'm still trying to figure out how to make my drawings not look like complete shit on the internets.

1 and 2 are my fav's, I would try and implement elements of one into 2, creepy trunk, lotsa eyeballs. Also, I found on the scanner if you are doing moleskin pages or anything really, color scans pick up a lot more nuances of things but then its just a matter of how white do you want the background and such. Aaaaaaaand, booooiiiiiiiieeeeee its on yo! You know when the next team CHOW starts? I think we've got ourselves the foundations right hurr. Lets start bossin up.

    Kingkostas - Thanks mate!

Diarum - Haha aight yeah teachers can be sneaky.. really sneaky. I'll keep on doing these sexy studies!

Metal Fingers - I allways think of sallad fingers when I see you around... rrrrusty spoons
Ah cool, I'll check it out. These are plain A4 printing papers though, so scanning in grayscale actually gives more tone to the hb's
Im'a nuke yow ass with ma A-studies! on a sidenote, Yes TeamChow is so on! dunno when, probably not for a while, but yes. You got yourself a wingman right here boi. Team names... How does "Illuminaughty" sound to you?
Penguin is part of my mutant creature series I'm starting.. got two more planned, CatOwl and HorseSpider.

2kre8 - Awesome! Go for it, full speed ahead! thanks.

More studiiiiiiiies. Done with Bridgmans "Constructive Anatomy", going to revise it now. Stupid me screwing up allready... I'm supposed to focus on the constructive parts of the studies, not bridgmans quick scribbles lol Anyhow, more to come.
Also sketching on the Chow. I have to finish my work.. gah. I find myself drifting into new ideas all the time eager and ready to devour them. Need to focus on what I allready have. Still have the Dragon piece waiting.

I like very much all of you drawings! Especially the nudes, where you left construction lines. You're taking great things from Bridgman! Those chicks are hot! Please do more studies like these, because you definetely need more work on this subject And for the dragon painting - sketch lines you left are a bit from different story I think (you're building form with paint there, not lines). They are not telling us a lot, but look rather like you didn't bother to erase them, hard to say;P If you spend one hour more on your drawings they would be a nice piece of art. I've tried to be a speedpainter, but it means that you have to rush yourself because of time. Now I prefer to create one piece I like insted of 3 not well-thought-out craps.

Once again, nice sketches and your sketchbook is supercool!

    Best,

Hahaha awwwww shit, I didn't wanna scan the pages but I think you've maaaaaaade me do it. Those hands are looking rad, draw some from memory right after though, every other page I do I do from memory and then dick around with imaginary stuff after all the studies. I'll have to dig up my mangoatsnake drawing. Keep rocking it.
