Jesus... so many awesome Bridgman studies! Definitely keep those up, although might i suggest another approach to the studies which helps with understanding em better and which kinda helps with form too? Works for me anyway, link below. =p
Add me on msn and ill give u my male ref folder... can't give u the female one unfortunately... it's currently 20gb+... *cough*

Look at you! Being so much more dedicated than I am. Hopefully one day I'll be consistent enough to whip up the amount of updates you do. I do apologize for not posting here for you for awhile, as you know, took a bit of a break.
Hope you get your computer situation sorted soon, I look forward to seeing more. I really dig the creature sketches in this and your digital painting was really taking some cool turns around this point.
Keep going friend, you're already so far ahead on so many levels. It'd be really fun to see you sit down and really try to pull out a cool finished piece at some point.
Great mate, i love the lines and the design in the last ones.Keep going with the head construction.
Your creatures are awesome again.
Keep pushing the characters![]()

You guys are the best.. still commenting and helpig me out, it really means a lot!
I got my adapter up and running today and the computer problem appeared to be fixed.. the allmighty however, still had a prank up his sleeve.
Good thing is the adapter works with my computer and I can access the internet again.. damn I've been missing the anatomy books andmusic. Not to mention PAINTING!
Bad thing is the adapters powersupply is way to low for my laptop. Frgging monster needs 240w and the adapter is 120.. really sucks. My computer works, but only in stealth mode with lowest settings available.
Everything has a small delay hehe, but.. I can paint, yeah!
Did this speedy to try out these weird powersetting. Went well, though I fear a larger piece with many layers and careful rendering will lagg me too death.
Anyhow, it's great to be back. Thanks again everyone for the encouragement! more stuff to come.
looking way dope man
you have a fresh style
always good dropin by
keep it up!
till next time

Edit > Free transform, give him a little rotating action, or maybe select the legs and adjust them seperately, either way, yo welcome!!! Liking those reds, looking good so far!
OmertA - Hey man, thanks! see ya around
ManMadeGod - Thanks for the tip. I just wanted to get the legs over withThink I overdid the reds, need some more orange to shape the flames, ah whatevah.
Nice to see you mate
Even though my computer is running at its lowest It still paints good enoughDecided to give COW a go, last minute piece. Also a random speedpaint which 'm not happy with at all. I started this one blocking out shapes of gray and then adding colours. A process I'm not good at, from now on I'll stick to linework - grays - colour until I grasp light/shadow relations.. that's my weakest area at the moment.
oh and this is my 1000th post!
it feels so good to be back.
Wow! Great stuffs you added here since my last visit. That COW piece is killer!![]()
I'm making mess here: Sketchbook.

I really like the abstract feel of the last one.
This is now getting into the realm of personal opinion, but have you tried adding some different colours into the mix. It seems that generally you have your base colour, the hilight colour, and the secondary light source colour. Get some bounced light in there or something mayhap? Or an intensification of the object's own colour. If it's warm add warmer colours, and cool, some cooler. Gah...this isn't comming out right....Not variations of the same colour, but different but related ones.
Ah, well hopefully you got something out of that. Nice work either way!
Witcrack - Thanks!
Pixie Trick - It's something I've been thinking about too. A lot actually, I'm not sure if you're familiar with Ruan Jias work? some of the best that's been posted at CA / http://www.ruanjia.com/
If you look at the opening piece you see a wide range of colours, grayish green/blue hues for the background and a wide range of subtle purples, greens, oranges and yellows at the focal point.
His works are some of my absolute favourites and yeah, I know what you mean. I'm trying to work with more colours, subtle huevariations and such.
thanks for the tip, I know what you're talking about
Some works. Random speedpaint upper body, I suck at faces though slowly geting better!
Also starting a project I've had in mind for a while, 4 good portfolio pieces. Four dragons, each one symbolising one of four elements.
And some random 3ds max stuff... damn the program is so fun, learning the basics. lucky that I found a university course that teaches 3ds.
More to come.
Oh yeah, I've seen his work before. If I remember correctly he uses a lot of different layer setting for a lot of his work, which personally drive me nuts, so extra kudos to him. Glad you can understand my gibberish!![]()
awesome studies and damn, your creatures are so KICKASS!
Pixie Trick - Yeah working with many layers is a pain, but you can get some really nice atmosphere. I'm trying to learn a bit how he uses layers
Conte - Thank you!
Daily 'speed' (2hrs) paint.. poor Wyrm being killed by a hero. Also a fan-art sketch from Diablo II showing the sorceress wearing her character specific set 'Tal-Rashas wrappings'.
Last year I started a Diablo fan-art project.. I feel it's time to remake and finish them. I need some good character art for my portfolio![]()
Started painting my firedragon.. a bit inspired by Ruan Jias subtle colours. I think the colours feel off because of the very dark linework still visile. I'll have to even it out.
First I did some colour tests and then started rendering, hopefully I'll finish this in time for Exposé 8's deadline!
crits welcome, let me hear your thoughts, light too strong? colours off? etc.
*Edit*
Just read El Coro's epic post adressing Mr.Delicious work -- http://conceptart.org/forums/showpos...34&postcount=8
Damn what an eye-opener. I realize 'm starting to get to comfortable in my process. No really trying things as much as I could. I'm really going to focus on studies more now, coal and pencils aswell as digital colouring. Thanks mr Coro!

Your work is really improving. I love it. Thank you for sharing it with us and also for motivating me![]()
Wow. Really cool stuff in here!! Love the loose character designs!
Rushlord - Thanks man! you'r welcome
Adam Watts - Thanks!
Been working on a portrait study with the crimson daggers.. about 2 hours. I think I'm too messy with the brush strokes.. instead of just scribbling out values I have to focus on defining shape with as few strokes as possible. Will render this study further tommorow![]()
More work on the dragon, rendering is not fun. Gonna change the front legs
His front left leg looks awkward.
But it is really awesome, the head is looking sick ! I love the abstract line thing you got going on there.
I love all your paintings ! Especially the Lotus Kite.
Awesome dragon. Keep up the good work!
Ha! I just remembered a perfect example by bumskee.-> Link-Link
You'd have to decide the pose a bit more to make a final choice as to how the legs would go. Right now the issue is more with the body than the legs. According to the values you have down now, the body at the rear and front legs swing out towards us. This is disagreeing with the head and far hind leg. Right now that leg should be barely able to be seen if your were to have is placed at the same angle as the closest.
I like those bright colours in the bg. I really makes scaly-boy here pop out!
That ..... thing is too bizarre!!! I like the way it moves.. I talking about the weird flying whale hehe
Loki - Thanks man! yeah I've moved the front legs now. Now the hind legs turned into a problem!
Zelda_Geek - Thank you
Pixie Trick - Thats the bumskee piece I was inspired by. Love how he has that intense red as a border between light and shade. I'm no way near his skill level though... gotta start somewhere!
Yeah the head stands out actualy.. I give you that. Some weird angle. Would pain me to re-do it since I was sure it'd work. I feel the isse is that somehow, some parts of the dragon appear to be closer to a 3/4 view while others are more profiled.
Been re-designing the hind legs a bit, do you think it's necssary? I'd love to hear your thought on these 3.
Thanks for the help!
RedWarrior - Thanks! I was aiming for it to appear to be moving in a special way, so thats great to hear.
More work on this dragon, I'm too tired. Been re-working some aspects, hind legs mainly, also changed position on front legs. Rendered som more on neck. I fear there's more to it. As I wrote to Pixie, some parts of the dragon appear to be closer to a 3/4 view while others are more profiled. It bugs me.
Would love to hear your thoughts regarding these hind legs and anyting else regarding this piece. First one is original, the two others are variations. I know the 3rd appears the be floating, the shadow is too wide. No fix Me tired
Good nigh for now!
*Edit* I Know what's off with the Head!! it's the neck's scales, they suggest a frog perpective while the head suggests bird perspective. Damn scales, I think that if I re-do the neck and make them face the other way it'll look much better.

Hey there man, sorry it's been awhile since I've dropped by. You're knocking out shit super quick, and it's really good stuff.
I did a quick paintover to show you my suggestion for the hind leg on your latest. Sorry for the crappy lines, I'm at work - but I did my best with a mouse.
Hopefully it illustrates the idea well enough. You can take a look at pictures of things like lions and cougars sitting to give you a good idea of hind leg positioning of this nature.
Keep it up, thanks for the continued motivation and inspiration.
