When I saw the face of that zomboids digi painting, I was thinking about your concepts (in mind) about the face muscles and all the stuff, you know to be able to get your imaginaton into the artwork. As many sketchbooks also this one doesn't show the massive knowledge and pratice which is needed to get into such a stadium of drawing skills or let me use the right words: understood concepts of forms, nature etc. The lack of that what COULD be shown in digi sketches and what IS shown in most of the sketchbooks only in graphite, pencil, pen or charcoal sketches are the lines around the form instead of COLOUR puzzle parts and colour shadows to describe the form. Unfortunately most of the artists seem to loose the line concept as soon as they use the graphic tablet or they stick to the tool palettes of photoshop, painter or whatever they use for digi paintings. What I want to say is: If that spawn picture the other guy had posted is from the 90ies... your pencil artwork today must have get really eyecandy stuff. So... scan it ad post it, PLEASE!

When painting with oil i prefer long sessions with nothing on my mind but painting in freedom. This days i am very busy with work.

There are some old pencil sketches somewhere in the beginning of this Sketchbook... I will sometimes scan some new scribles, tho to be honest i don't make many this days, digital sketches are simply quicker as i don't need to scan anything.

Game developer ist Spiele Entwickler, MV steht fuer Musik Video, ich arbeite hauptsaechlich an Spielem, fuer PC und konsolen... Aber auch an daderen Sachen, wie Musik Videos usw...

In Berlin bin ich eher selten, meine Eltern wohnen da, ich selbst bin nach Thailand verzogen, hier ists waermer

Aber ich würd auf jeden Fall die Waffe so zeichnen, dass sie nach oben zeigt

I will go with the right one, tho i might still change kanedas pose a bit

The right one is more like a poster, what i want is a actual scene with both characters there..
I will go with this pose for Tetsuo, imo it shows his character well,

I might add the satellite beam in the BG too
I need some sort of fire or a strong bouncing light here, some fog layer close to the ground or smoke... i want to have this lighting from below on Tetuos face, it adds to the madness of his character. (flashlight effect)

I think i will turn the head a bit to the left and raise it, will look heroic.
Weapon arm pose may change too but in general the pose will remain, i want him to stand there, balancing on the stone...

Arm needs a bit of touch up and fixing and the left eye is dull compared to the right. Other than that, nice visual and action in the scene. I can remember that scene when Kaneda shot him.

Im working on a project redoing the cover for the 6-volume Akira collection - thinking about re-reading it - and i got a copy of Domu to read and a French-language anthology of his -
AND now your doing fuck awesome paintings of it. Love it dude!

How much are you thinking they should look like Tetsuo and Kaneda? At the moment Tetsuo looks pretty good, but Kaneda is missing something. Maybe its the hair, maybe it could be a bit longer and bit 'curvier'?
