Well... you could draw a smelly hooke-- erhm...

    nevermind

Maybe try some proportion practice and some life drawing (hint). I'm still taken to school every day on that stuff by almost everyone else's drawings.

nice study with the can! There could be a darker shadow on the
shadow you already have, metal usually has a very high contrast.

Hey great start, I hope you keep going! When doing gesture drawings stay away from just drawing the contour as much as possible. It's really hard to begin understanding form if you just copy the outline of something and fill it in! Get inside it right away! Try your best to understand what is going on and really try and think about it OVer lap shapes you see with one another to try and bring out the space. Be mindful of the figure and the space they are in. Is this part moving away from me? Is this part moving towards me? How can I represent this

Okay, first of all: why o why of all the effin beers in the world did you choose HEINEKEN? For christ sake man, that's terrible? They don't know what beer taste like down under or something? Second, the top of the can should be flatter than the bottom, it's a perspective thing. Third, you're doing okay but you're still kinda colouring between the lines if you know what i'm seeing. Don't be afraid of colouring outside the lines, mmkay?

    LOL. Iron Chef America.

Yeah, Walnut is right. Perspective. Work on that. Draw cylinders. Get the rough cylinder in there first, then start messing with the rendering.

    Nice reflective looking surface, tho.

miycko Haha, it's gold true, thanks, your not missing out on much yer the perspective was off I guess, I'll do better next time

Dy.laneA: Thanks, I will, thanks for the advice your right, I should be imagining the shapes that make up the form, thanks again for stopping by and sharing some wisdom

walnut: Dude it's just beer, lets just stick to the art please and not slamming a nation because I drink heineken (on the rare occasion that I actually drink) ok perspectivce is off, got ya 3. are you being literal or do you want me to be more experimental? thanks for the help

p sage: BEER! ok my perspective sucks a little hard at the moment, thanks again for the support

OK, today I did some perspective, a few figures which I tried to make with shapes, some from imagination and the 3 girls from reference oh and some proportion practice from some comic book, once again thanks for all the support so far, you guys ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK! as grandmassa would say (hope he doesn't beat down on me for using his word )

Ah, the single body part studies seem not in proper alignment when you put them together to make a human. Try using a measurement system for proportions. Not sure if that is what the "blocking" of anatomy is about. Loomis has a good one, but I like the more comic book style of proportion guidance.

Hey, no name. I can see all the work you're putting into your drawings. What I think will help you the best is working off of a live nude. The value is incalculable. Look around your local area and see if anyone offers and studio time or classes, some can be had for as little as 10$ USD a session. It'll help your figures seem more fluid and alive, and dare I say, even hotter .

    *BIG SMILE*

Hey, man, don't do art on my account Do it for you

As you'll see, it turns out I didn't miss anything (no wedding missed. Whew)

The most important thing about doing this ART stuff is to not drop it... don't go a day without drawing. Even going through the motions is better than making no motion.

I had to keep reminding myself of that these last two days, when my drawing time was minimal. Tomorrow is catchup day!

It's already tomorrow for you (SATURDAY!) so kick some serious ass now

Good work on all those studies, especially rendering is paying of! But maybe draw some more from real life? Take a pencil and a sketchbook and draw stillives, people and buildings to improve your sketching and perspective skills, this will take some time but it'll be worth it. Good luck!

miycko: , thanks, I will try my best

NealTse: Thanks for the suggestion, I've been looking for about a month now, really eager to take one but there are none locally (that I have found) I'll find one though, thanks for stopping by

p sage: lucky lucky , sadly it was a slow day, had a music lesson in the morning, only had like 3 hours sleep I will kick ass tomorrow, I promise

Wixxi: Thanks, that sounds like a good idea, I'm going to get a small sketchbook tomorrow and carry it around with me thanks again for the support

    Dy.laneA: I did I will

Found this baby and decided to work on her some more (Setsuka from Soul Calibur IV) + her little friend

Edit: I think I'm starting to use too many smilies in the text , there's like 14 of them...haha (was tempted to finish with one)

If you go on with the latest WIP: I think her head is a bit too small. And the thigh is too long if you compare it with the lower leg. Both have the same length normally
But I like the dynamic in the movement =D

Cool... it does have movement, doesn't it? How'd you do that

Seriously, you have some skills in unusual areas--you can draw faces, and you can get a drawing looking like there's movement in there... it's the other stuff people usually get good at first

Oh yeah. And I'm sick of the cookies. Do you have any ice creams?

Nephilie: Good observation, if I continue on with it I will make sure to fix it, thanks

p sage: The only way I got it to have movement is by copying the original image, hope you guys don't think this is an original piece, I'm treating it more like a study on form, thanks for the compliments though ice cream is on it's way

Dy.laneA: Sould Calibur is a fun game to play with mates, Talim kicks ass, she's so quick and jumpy

    liquidjack: Yep , I will

Ok, now on to the explanation, well in order to better understand form, I'm sticking to this shape approach, will substitute in posemaniacs as well, they may compliment one another, I did some loomis too but it looked unsightly so I made it as small as possible and the last piece I quickly wipped up to bulk up this update working from imagination is fun, and I think this is the first time I've attempted the male face from imagination (well its supposed to be male )
thought I would also show you guys the dingy little workstation where this stuff manifests itself (very little space to draw), oh and ice-cream

hey man, that shape thingy looks like a good way to approach things & i think you got the male face down it's just the hair that's a little girly tell you what, you've got lots more space on your work station than i do, i wouldn't even dare post a pic of dingy place. hehe, icecream maybe try a study of that pic, i wonder what painted icecream tastes like
