hey trevor! loving the mer/dragon. I really like the kind of speckled patterning on the first one, but the colouring of the third.

Had to get out of a little art funk for a couple of days, but I'm ready to roll now!

Currently the characters I have planned are:
    1) Human Cleric (good) / Necromancer (when he's eeevvvill)
    2) Dryad (or maybe Wood Elf) Beastmaster
    3) ???????

    Sketched a bit tonight:

...and with that, The Loveboys have assembled.

Thanks for all of the encouragement guys, turns out I'm having a blast with these, despite my having never really attempted high fantasy.

    I'll be running with:
    1) Satyr Archer
    2) Centaur Pikeman (see 50 CENTaur below)
    3) Halfbreed Orc/Elf Assassin if time permits

    Here's a quick sketch

I must agree with Daestwen that banner is terrifying... terrifyingly awesome!

You all have got some great designs going on here, really pushing your characters beyond the standard high fantasy hero types, and producing some badass results. I can't wait to see the final line up you guys come up with. I just have a few comments which you guys can pretty much ignore if you want because you are all so much more kickass at this than I am... but here it is anyway it might be helpful?.. maybe... probably not... but anyway...

Mr. Delicious- So far out of the ones you posted I think the bird/lizard one in you last post has the most appeal. You've really been able to capture a lot of personality in the character which can be difficult when working with a creature with avianesque features. Awesome.

Twitchfinger - I like the visual designs you have come up with for your cleric and the dryad but I think you could push more with the concepts. Make them a little more unique. Maybe instead of a dryad beastmaster, wilderness/warrior, druidic type maybe a dryad who has uprooted her tree, planted it in a mobile planter and has become a traveling druidic evangelist converting farmers to druidism, or an embodiment of nature's revenge slaying peasants for clearing forest for farm land or something... by now I'm just talking out my ass but you get the idea. As for the cleric my only suggestion is... more pope hat... and when he turns evil... even more pope hat!... Necromantic pope hat of DOOM

Marco - the centaur is badass I'm loving the armor design. I like the halfbreed assassin idea it also looks like an interesting way to go. The sayter design is also good just make sure it doesn't end up looking too much like a Gamesworkshop Warhammer chaos beastman, maybe a more refined, less wild looking sayter? I dunno I'm sure it will end up awesome as well.

Trevor - I'm liking your halfgiant brawler but I think the style with the tattoos and the mustache from pg. 1 has a lot more personality and unique style than the last few versions. Maybe a mix of the two since the mustachioed version looks maybe a little too human? Also the mer dragoon is coming along nicely out of the colors you played around with I like the third one the best but the yellow spots on the 2nd one really stand out to me. They remind me of some bioluminescent sea creatures which could be a really cool effect... here are some pics for reference of what I'm talking about.

Anyway sorry about the long post. I hope something I said might be useful...
if not just throw it out or ignore it or whatever. Like I said, you guys know
more about what you are doing than I do so take it as you will
You guy just keep rockin' hardcore can't wait to see the final pieces.
More... more...we want more inspiring awesomness!
    Later.

    Take care,

you bring up some valid points
i know what your saying about the brawler the wraps from the human one are way more fun and i think i want to tie them in more to this dude
as far as designs and unity i think it would be really cool to
make the materials from good vs evil really different
ie: good is man made artisan sort of gear quality engraved and ornamented metals and maybe some refined scrimshaw and for fabrics
fine hides with quilted, embroidered fabrics in between the armor

for evil mainly creature materials like bones scales and shells
again all engraved but dirty and jagged
    just a thought

heres my rough designs for pure/corrupt brawler / berzerker
i need to push the corrupted bit much further but my plan is there now so im good i think
could also use more personal items as well for both of them just to add character
