Hehe. "Boobs."
The faces are starting to look better. Good to see some studies from ya.

Thanks for the comment P sage.
More practice
First sketch is a life drawing my wife was kind enough to model for me, other two are simply sketches from imagination.
I think what you're doing right now is essential. Your life drawing shows the areas in need of improvement IMO.
For instance, check the size of the hand in her lap versus the size of the face.
I think before your weaknesses had been masked because you would draw stuff you were better at. If you tackle these weaknesses I think you'll be able to bulldoze ahead and finally get past the mistakes that have held you back.

Thanks for the tip P sage, I love life drawing from models but not being in school anymore it's hard to find someone to sit for me. I'll probably have to start forcing her to model for me more often lol.
Had a lot of fun with using complimentary colors. These studies I can just feel my painting skills improving.
Cool. If it helps, it helps. That's what matters. Good work.

keep going
So I did a bunch of pencil drawings today but never got around to scanning them... oh well, I'll do those tomorrow. This is a quick photoshop anatomy painting.
Got a few drawings here, first up is a character design, I really liked how this one turned out, I'm probably paint it pretty soon.
Second is another self portrait. I liked this a lot also, probably the best portrait I've ever done but then again I don't do many portraits.
And last but not least are two pages of weapon designs.
Nice use of straight lines on your SP. Always think structure. I think you're about ready to turn a corner here.

Thanks for the confidence boost, p sage.
Painted my portrait.
did a quick hand study this morning.
odd i updated just now but it didn't bump my thread so i'm trying to do it now...
Slow process on this character design. Comment and/or critiques always welcome.
Something about the right side of his torso seems flat. Maybe because it's not fully rendered yet. Also the placement of the mouth seems a little off.
Nice job on the SP coloring. Kind of cartoony.

Thanks for the tip p sage.
Need a break, been working on it most of the night.
Finished this character design, i really like how it turned out.
added some more detail, dirt, grime, and fixed the right eye, made it pop less.
more tweaking
There's something unnerving about his face I'm trying to figure out... The (our) right eye's outer corner is pulled down where it's not in the left. The bottoms of ears are usually aligned with the bottom on the nose in a level portrait.Lasso that sucker and pull it down a few pixels. The lips are a bit dark for a man.
As for the armor, the design is pretty awesome but it could use some more contrast if it's supposed to be metal. MAKE IT SHINEY.![]()
Sketchbook
I use MSPaint.
Kaileighblue- Thanks so much for the comment! I didn't even realize the ear was off a bit. Thanks I'll fix that asap.
more tweaking the small things. every time I do it gets better and better i think.
It is looking better, you're right. The more 3D you make it the better it looks.

Thanks p sage, I don't know if it's totally finished yet... maybe a little bit of background might help. Not too much, I don't want it to distract from the character.
Your character design is coming along quite nicely.
Thanks for the comment Nurraymjo.
Some more sketches and studies. More coming soon, once i get to scan them.
