Your characters are extremely inspiring. Loving both the stylization and the bold use of brushes. I'd never have the balls nor the skills to solely use fully opaque brushes.

Wow I look at all your sketchbook and it sure is a proof that work always pay. I like your actual drawing style and the way you use brush to create some texture effect even in studies (the mountains).
Also, it's really nice to let us know some of your tips, I founds them really usefull (how to hide selection ), thanks !

    @ Yemi775
Thanks, glad you've liked it. It's just a brush preset I had. Earlier some of my tools were based on brushes, which Mathias Verhasselt used and shared. After a while now I'm using mostly brushes and tools, I've created for my needs, but some of these old brush presets are still there. It's just couple strokes, nothing more.

    @ Zidartha
Yeah, I guess I'm becoming comment , and I like it. But I did wanted to share the piece, after watching that trailer about 15 times. So good.

    @ Wholewheat_keyboard
Actually I could've use more contast, but in those monotone value studies I leave very dark and very bright, in case I'd want to add something more later, or color it.

    @ MrFrenik
Glad you like it. It's hard to keep remembering about saving each stage, as another layer. I usually splat all over one-two layers from sketch to finish.

    @ Elias Leonard
Thanks. I do feel, that I've extablished finally something distinct in my techniques, because earlier, in the beginning of training and studying I was just drooling all over awesome artist's styles, like Dave Rapoza, Brad Rigney, Mathias Verhasselt and plenty of other cool guys.

    @ raminafshari
    Thanks!

    @ Kostas
Yo my man! Thanks bro, you're awesome too!

    @ Griffonnage
I'm glad to share some knowledge. Yeah, it's a long journey, and so much ahead, but I'm glad I've become an artist, and feel sort of proud, that I'm all self-taught. Cheers!

    @ iambanana
Thanks! I'm planning to go even more boldly with almost no transparency brushes. I'll use one color and one round brush to depict Sistine Chapel, and it'll be pink color.

    @ Othrandir
    Thanks!

    @ V3T
Well I did mentioned in the post, that I was inspired by it's art.

Thank you all for some sweet words.

So I've been living in St.Petersburg for the last 10 and a half months, and now I've decided to go back to Moscow for a while, due to some personal reasons I've been considering for a while. It was a great time with Nival Networks, soon our game will be announced and I think it's gonna be neat.

One thing I didn't do much, while living here, is sightseeing. I've been passing by some sights, and been visiting centre a lot, but no actual touristing. Well, I've grabbed my balls, my new Nikon D7000 camera and went to the place, I've been recommended to visit - Isakievskiy Sobor. Thing is St. Petersburg is quite short town, so when you getting up on that Cathedral, you get a panoramic view of the city. So, here's couple shots I wanted to share.

Oh and shooting at -20C is not easy.

Edit, shots almost as is, minimal correction (mostly exposure). Damn it was a nice day.

Nice sketchbook ! i just suggest to study more the head structure, the last portait ( girl with purple hair ) have some major flaws on the construction ! Your edge control is pretty nice, but your work deserves more time spent on values, since some areas still looks flat, and i don't even think it's a lack of knowledge because your portraits in values are nice ( thos a bit light in contrast ) ! And nice shots ! Anyway, i'm looking forward to see more !
