This is my effort. Still keen on improving my skills and in no way is this as much as I want it to be but none the less I am proud of it, definately my best piece of PS work I've ever done.
First step was to get a general feel. Photographed myself and messed around to see if I could visualise the idea in my head. Next worked on perspective. Wanted the figure looking up at us, to increase the impact of our space between us and him, and making it more obvious that we have no decision in his actions but still feel connected through interlocuter. Struggled with the perspective a bit so photographed myself to get something to work with. Worked on the concept of the idea I had, then played with the background, trying to emphasize through contrast the figure. Didn't terribly like it. (Next accidentally hid a layer and came up with an interesting piece that could have led me off in a different direction, but after a short venturing down it I lost the clarity I started with and diverted back to the original piece, but with a useful deviation which helped take me further down a path I was finding a little stale). After hours playing with the background, developing the character and building a 'moment' I had finally reached a stage where I could see the end in sight...
