Lot of drawing today. Mostly Bridgman studies with pencils, but I also made these digital Batman poops. I'm really enjoying drawing again.

Something from last few days. An overpainted, color dodge abused environment and some silly silhouettes. Feeling too lazy for any studies right now.

NickTrip: Thanks, man. I like epic stuff

I'm trying to get more into studying again. One of the numerous things that I feel needs more attention is my brush stroke economy. I seem to have a tendency to scrible too much with small brushes and over render everything till they look forced and ugly. So I did a Jaime Jones study to tackle that a bit. After the exercise I did this fast BW enviroment in which I tried to incorporate some of the things I had learned.

    Wr00m: Thanks dude. I will.

Here's something from today and yesterday. I was looking through Kekai Kotaki's stuff and got inspired, so there's some Kekai-influences in the first painting. Might take it further later (color and stuff). The second one is just a random enviro practice.

I love the study you did from Bouguereau. That's probably one of my favorite paintings of all time. And you definitely did it justice!

Dana_T: Thanks. I should start studying him again. It's been too long since that one.
raminafshari: I guess you mean the Jaime Jones study? Yeah, his stuff is awesome. I hope I didn't totally ruin that great piece.
    Parsakoira: Thanks man.

A late night cheesy speed painting and some work on the wolf monster piece; still needs more lovin' though.

Couple of DSG entries (with minor adjustments in the sci-fi piece). Had lots of fun with these. The cockpit thingy was also quite challenging and taught me lots of new stuff about photoshop. Before this I for example didn't know how to draw unfilled circles in Ps.

You excel with your enviro works

LtPlissken: Thanks, dude. Yeah, I love the whole movie. Jack's so awesome.

Today was an eye day. Thinks I learned me something here. The numbered ones are from ref. Others are from imagination. Also a quick still-life cup focusing just on value.

Thanks for the insightful tips about studies in my sketchbook. I felt pretty good about my work but you put me back in my place, I need to push myself harder.

Haven't seen too many Finns here, and when I do see, they're all better than me. Awesome paintings here, figures and environs both! Very professional looking. Exactly the kind of stuff I'd like to be able to do. Beyond me for crits so I can only give encouragement. Keep posting more and pushing yourself to even higher level!

Great stuff in here! I think your enviros will need a bit more detail and precision if you want them to be usable for work, but you are definitely well on your way. Keep posting!

    1 million ponies: Thank you.
kitfox: Thanks. Still I bet you'll be kicking my butt in no time if you keep up with what you're doing right now, working on the fundamentals. I wish I had done that when I was your age... but is never too late! Getting better is in the end just a matter of dedication and passion.
Liffey: Thank you for the constructive crit. I'll try to keep that advice in mind with the next piece.
    Kauil: Thanks. That's engouraging talk.
Malakuko: Thanks, man. Well, you're still kicking my butt with pencils and those great self portraits. Gotta start doing those myself.
Rotor: Thanks, dude. Glad you liked it.

Your work is a pleasure to look at man. Your lemon sitll life looks photo-realistic. I like the way you use human figures to indicate scale. Your second version of the huge worm on the beach looks great, not that the first one didn't look good. You use lighting in your compositions really well to draw the vewiers eye.

Keep up the good work dude!
