    Newborn - Venus

The forum is containing some incredible work.

Here's my take, twisting the old Venus mythology a bit. Wanted to do a modern spin involving some cloning...

Ha, I'm doing Venus as well. Nice to see a different take on it.

Cool...do you have anything posted (there are a lot of entries on this forum...lol)? I'd be interested in taking a gander at your version.

Re-looking at yours, the left hand is a bit small.

Yeah, I've been noticing that as well the last couple of nights when I turned the image around. I'll be focusing on that in a bit.

    Nice idea
But the hand in the air is way too small

Hey Justice. Yeah, I'm saving it for last...lol. It's kinda glaring now that I'm getting closer to finishing this.

Artboy, the concept's looking good so far, but the random highlights are really hurting the image- it's hard to focus on anything. I assume you're going for wet skin- reference from life, get an idea of the light source so you know where to place your highlights for maximum effect. There's also a good tutorial by Henning Ludvigsen somewhere online that talks about creating wet skin, so look that up as well.

I like the futuristic take on venus, the background needs a bit of work though, maybe a couple machines & computer's, and more tubes & stuff. looking good so far

you know what?choose a light direction first, then paint masses of shadow and light, put then some radiosity (there should be plenty of it in that scene..)
now can you change the color of the liquid ,your parents didnt told you electricity and water dont mix?
so try for a fluid of some sort that conveys electricity
and wipe out the background for something else more blurry ,it ruins it all at the moment
look at the birth of venus painting and male a modern version of the background maybe...

then for a finish ,find some good reference photos for reflections and paint those lights on top of all that!

    keep it up!

Thanks for the comments everyone, appreciate it. I pushed the background back a bit and darken it. Here's the most recent update...still working the lighting...
