First of all, make sure you get the structure of the face solid before taking it into Photoshop. For a first try, that coloring job isn't too bad. Draw from reference as much as you can and you'll improve.
well i actually thought the structure was right, which probably means i need more refrence stuff. thanks
more stuff, i'm starting to think i'm drawing the eyes way to big.
First off, you have a wonderful start!
But, here's an idea; you could always go and get a couple of magazines and draw the faces from them. In a woman's or hairstyle magazine, they'd have lots of faces for you to draw!
Yay faces! They're my favorite.
The best advice I can give you is to look at the basic construction of the skull- like Mr.Skull in my example. Once you learn the simple shapes of the head it makes life much easier.
Bridgeman has great examples for simple structure.

I also Did a quick sketch over your drawing. Your general proportions are pretty good, just the ears are too low.
If a person is looking dead-on the top corner of the ear lines up with the corner of the eye, the bottom with the nose.
Try to work with simple shapes of the features. The eye, for example, is a sphere, so the eyelid lines will be going around the sphere. Never draw a wrinkle just because there's a wrinkle on your reference, try to figure out what's causing it.
Hope this helps![]()
thanks, i'll definatly get some skull studies in. This next one should be better in terms of proportions, and the last two are from reference.
so more stuff not from refrence. i might be getting a little to sloppy...
hello friends,
i'm a new comer.i'm bella.
nice to meet you.

Hello PF! Nice start! Practice and study of books quite like the friend Rhubix indicated! There are also books of Andrew Loomis and others that I recommend like the "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" by Betty Edwards. Keep it up, that the results will come soon!
Great Start can see you are determined! Have you looked at Loomis? His drawing the head book is great! Here's a link to it:
