I generally don't like to share my "halfway" images, but I need to push mysef to improve more then I currently do and thus here there be WiP's.

First some sort of moodsketch, general shape of the creature is picked up. Next I will develop the creature better and then I will do a final render or "beautyshot" if you will...

Nah, it's not planned to be the water breaking...I'm not going to be as litteral with he "newborn" thing as most seem to be.
As far as I understood it, this competition s about my "newborn" vision and bringing it to life..the creative process of bringing something completely new for all to see...
So I'm going to do a proper scene with, amongst other things, this creature (more developed) in it... Updating with a quick sketch of the creature in post #2.

Interesting colour pallete, Studio. You should keep on posting more WIPs as it encourage us to further improve our works and of course getting feedback that will help push our skills to the limit.
