Your figure drawings and paintings are absolutely beautiful! I have just joined a local croquis drawing society to improve my life drawing skills.

I am going to follow your blog!

    some paintings and whatnot..

a selection of recent works.. everything here is from the live model except "superman" (yes that's his real, crazy tattoo!) and the young woman on the sofa - those are from life sketches and refs. -Kevin

OMG THE DUDE WITH THE SUPERMAN TATTOO! I've had that model. He's a kind of weird guy, isn't he? I remember he once had a stuffed jaguar with him, which he called his "spirit buddy" and the teacher kept moving it because it was covering his feet and he was getting upset about that hahaha

    some figure studies -

Thank you kind peoples for your thoughts and commentary! Happy Saturday!

The first figure is on "good" paper ( e.g., strathmore 400) - and was about 8 hours in the making from the live model ( all of these are unless stated otherwise). Charcoal pencil, wolff's carbon, compressed and willow.
Joanna was about an hour and a bit on newsprint.
Some quick figure studies - mostly 10,20's
Kristin 40 minutes and Alicia 20..
Anna Netrebko - a Russian opera singer in Acrylics - via photo
Linda Thorsen from "The Avengers - via photo Acrylics on paper..

    cheers all - kevin
