    hi and welcome to CA

good start, when big your drawing are better. You got nice confident lines.

if it's not already done, get loomis's books. They are free on the internet.

some suggestions: get attention to your proportions:
your heads are a little big,
the first girl has short legs
try to draw with geometric constructions (cylinders for arms and legs) the method is in the loomis books

    and the most important

The main thing I see a little of a problem with is proportions. Besides that, you're style is what i'd call "Refreshing". It just has that refreshing atmosphere- its nice to see!

Great job so far, only problem i see is the fingers in the second drawing are kind of misshapen, fix that and you'll really have something going on.

    Hello...

Nice start Gabyness...there have already been some good comments on what you are doing. If you are drawing in your sketchbook don't worry about a finished look. Also try drawing a body made up of shapes. Think of the underlying form like the skeleton and muscles. Draw family, friends, pets, people around the environment you live in. Pick up some figure drawing books or use the Internet. Anyways draw and draw. We are always learning.
Here is a good link for some hints and ideas...

    Yo, thanks for the comment.
Studies are looking great so far, especially with those last ones, working in shadows and values. I'm really not in the position to be giving advice, but I think it'd be nice to see some anatomy studies atop the poses. I find it helps to know what is going on underneath as well as the overall.

    Keep up the good work!

    Good studies.
But I wonder if you know how to draw from life,
Because this is the best way to learn!
    Don't go just on photos.
    ..
I promise to draw every day, and try to post everyday!(Changed)
Being inspired by some of you guys,
and thus decided to pick up my pencil everyday!

I'll post any junk I make, in hopes of getting much
    constructive criticism and LEARN! (:

Great studies.. I think it would be cool to take some of the studies you've done and apply your rendering style from the first images to them..

    Good stuff overall.

Those last studies are really looking good! Your line quality is really nice, and those last studies are very fluid. It seems like the hand studies are your weakest though, and seem to have a bit of proportion errors in them. I'd keep going with the hand studies, practice makes perfect. Hope that helps

It's been a while since I've posted on here (3 yrs?) and I have been browsing the threads recently seeing all the great art and it has persuaded me to once again start posting again because I want to get better. I'm not where I was hoping to be, but I'm determined to be successful this time. I haven't drawn regularly in a year because I've been in beauty school but now that I'm out I want to get better.

Here's a few pics to start off my journey to progress...sorry for the bad quality pics, they're taken from my phone. Will try to get better quality...
but here's a few figures and some mermaids and 50 hands. Refs used. I think all of the ref photos came from deviantart.
