Even with the weird diamonds, you've got good depth and form to the figure. Just think, it's only a couple of months to the Summer Holidays.
Your drawing style is really nice, structural with loose lines. I hope to see brilliant things from you. I know what you mean with the revision, my exams started on monday. Your watercolours are great. Good luck !
Thank you guys! and Black Spot, summer will be intennnsse!
ok this is a relatively large update for me. shows how little revision i have been doing....
edit: thought i should say that i completely ripped the harry potter idea off from Roxie Vizcarra
I like your Harry. I also wish the film version had someone a bit taller. Blue haired guy looks cool. Look forward to seeing you rock over Summer.
he's a seal
Ahhh I wish I could draw faces from imagination as well as you can atm ! -.-
I've got 7 exams left then i'm gonna kick your ass !!!
Keep the awesomeness up !!
this is my final piece for art coursework. i think it might actually be the best thing i've ever done? saaafe x
You have some interesting stuff here. I like your use of colors in some of your work. I hope to see more stuff from you![]()
A line is basically a minimalist definition of form.
So it's safe to conclude that a linedrawing/contour heavy drawing is a minimalist definition an intricate structure of form such as a face, a building or whatever is out in nature.
Easiest way to learn how to define form and how the true form of an object before you goes is by using crosshatching with a pencil to see how the form is sculpturally.
With paint, it would be by defining the angle/pressure/tilt/amount of pigment on the brush.
Since with paint it's more difficult, start with much, much more explorations of form in pencil(crosshatching) of objects that are relatively simple to understand form wise.
This is why people usually start with still lives, no matter how boring they can be
So take a cup, a mug, an egg, a bowl, a vase, a bottle, wooden cube.
Make a small composition, define the outer edges of your composition.
For example a rectangle, that holds all the elements of your composition.
Then see how much percent of the entire rectangle all the different elements(the bottle, the base, the cup) take up.
This gives you a rudimentary width and height for your objects.
Now compare what you have on your initial drawing with the objects in real life, do they feel wide enough, tall enough, is the neck of the bottle too tall? Too slender? Too.. bulky.
You try and complete the initial linedrawing by asking these questions over and over again, while trying to keep the initial percentages of the objects.
After you feel confident in the initial linedrawing, start adding mass by crosshatching what you think the form feels like as if you were placing your thumb ontop of the surface.
For the sake of convenience, think the following: surfaces of the object that come to the front are lighter, surfaces that go toward the back are darker.
This is called form lighting. It helps you think of form and only form.
So the first step handled proportion and composition, the second stage handles form and value.
Now if you practise this enough, and get a rudimentary handle on all these aspects, you can try going for more advanced subjects such as a human being and eventually try and add color to the series of problems
It is at this point, after you've familiarized yourself with the concepts of form, value, composition,(maybe add some perspective too eventually) and proportion that you can start going into detail.
Most people do this by studying anatomy, training their memory or explore in general what's beneath the surface/the components of the elements you're studying, it's texture, environmental conditions and so forth.
Good luck.
That last picture is superb! Well done, keep experimenting, having fun and push yourself just that little bit more each time.
It's weird how many of us teenagers are in here amongst the hardcore proffessionals. xD
I love your style, the pen works are great. Particularly love what you did with the Harry Potter chars, Ron's my fave there.
Keep up the good work!![]()
thanks for your replies guys.
Hyskoa - wow man seriously thanks a lot its people like you who make this site soo tight x
Great job on your final piece I think it looks really good.
i think you should study gesture and form before getting into color, but it's just an opinion
blahhh
hey man, digging these and all your other marker sketches bro
do some more studys, like life studys (still lifes, go to life drawing if you can) they help so good!
keep it up man, i'll be back again (:
How kid you have already very good skills, you know I am 31years and I am
just learning how to draw.
My be you look at my stuff,...![]()

ignore the writing, im an idiot
huh weird, last post i made disappeared.
first is the preliminary sketches for my school magazine illos, then two from imagination doodles.
I think your moving toward Graphic Design with the designs, dynamic colors and use of letters. Awesome manKeep drawing and refine your marker and water color skills
Best Regards
I'm out to conquer the world equipped with a pencil, digital paint and a Sketchbook
and when I do achieve that goal...I'll conquer the moon too![]()

I'd wear those shoes. Progressing nicely.
nice posts, not only can u draw well but they're really funny. "he's a seal" made me lol

nice colour experiences raffixkeep posting! ur about to achieve very good line quality
Thanks guys(:
krysjez - do you mean economics student? no i'm not, i'm not really sure what would've given you that idea (: !
you may have noticed that i'm now 17![]()
Good stuff, though i think that you should start doing some anatomy studies in supplement to the stuff your already doing, keep it up!
I agree with Exon-Ion; keep up the work though and don't stop doing the stuff you enjoythe graphic design element is really neat.
Tutor2u is what I use for Economics readings sometimes, so that just came to mind.
