Smile Zeus & Sons "Birth of Venus" spoof - WIP

I'm coming to that part of my comic where Aphrodite is about to appear, and I thought it'd be a good time to insert a classic art spoof. I'm of course thinking of Botticelli's "Birth of Venus".
Can anyone please tell me if something's terribly wrong with this sketch so far? I've merely posed my drawing mannequin in a manner similar to the Venus from the painting.

The only thing my not-so-keen-eye can see is that, if the sketch is supposed to be that of a woman's, the length of the shoulders should match the length of the hips (see image below). She also has no breasts. But if it's male, feel free to ignore me and you can leave it that way.

I think her legs are too short. Legs are usually around three and a half heads long, yours are around two and a half. Maybe you should pay heed to the graceful curve of Venus body in the painting as well. It will give the pose more life.

Oh, of course, I actually merely drew the drawing mannequin like a skeleton, adding the breasts and wider hips later.
Double-checking the legs and paying attention to said curve, too. Right away.

This isn't quite a critique per se, but if at all possible, avoid going by the original Venus painting by Botticelli for your anatomy referencing. It's not exactly... accurate.

It was my first thought when I looked at the painting. Fortunately, I used my drawing mannequin for the proportions, only using the painting as a reference for the position .

I'm sorry if I'm intruding or bothering you, but how come isn't the painting accurate'?

Mary, for example, look at Venus left arm. Looks like it's been twisted out of it's socket

I'm not sure the head is placed realistically either...

    legs too short
Fix them and jump into rendering

@mary-cherry-me: Well in Boticelli's painting, the head is way too small, her arm is majorly disjointed as someone else mentioned, and she's practically about to fall over. That's not to say it's not well painted, but it was from the period of art (and in fact science/medicine too) where anatomy wasn't well understood and it shows.

Not that I'm any better, 500 years later.

Sorry for the slight thread hijack.

Woops, I kind of forgot about this thread and, since the comic is due (considering my comic's update schedule) in two days or so, I leapt into rendering. This was the result, considering my Aphrodite is rather on the top-heavy, overly hourglassy side (consider how much hip I've added on the mannequin shape :p).

Following the recommendation of fellow conceptartists, I'll make the legs longer on the final version.
