hey dude. some really great improvement in here. the first one in post 55 is pretty funny. you're making better use of light and light sources recently, and the last few you can really see a level up in rendering. keep it up!

Great work! The progress from the beginning of the thread till the end is really obvious. And the last portraits from life are great!
The last character is also really nice. The lighting on the face especially.
Well done! Keep posting and improving!

    Hey bro

Yeah, it has been a while, but I think I've missed some of your updates too, no worries, just looked now..

I think your painting has improved since the last page or so, the colour has become brighter and your form is just improving more and more, the paintings are really clear now. Not sure whether I should crit cuz your stuff is looking really good atm.

Thank you for sharing your works with us as well. Keep well for now bro. =)

You've got some nice rendering skills. But I think your advice in my SB can be aplied to you too. Anatomy always is a bitch, so constant practice is essential. Keep going with a great stuff (love the guy with a brain).

    Hey Paul. Nice sketch thread.
What I really like is that you are putting all of it out there, getting your ideas on the (digital) page. Don't stop the imagination and keep learning the core as you go.

That is some progress. I'd pick on the anatomy in the couple of those (like the sci-fi dude and fantasy couple right after it - legs are just not good), but the lighting and rendering on the rest of the are just great. Genuinely like the panda one and that last dragonish thing too.

Hey man! The Zomby pice in your portfolio has a nice focus! It conveys the movement nicely. You got some nice images in generall. One weak point in my opinion is, that in many of your pices, like the panda/wizard or the sci fi one, the characters are not so well connected with the invironment. They dont really mix together that well. That is also caused by some perspective issues, for example with the feet. In the hunter pice (this woman with the dragon hat thing and the bow) you should work for example on her right food. It pops way to much from the ground. Anyway nice stuff!

Hey man its great to see the progress you have made in a relatively short period of time. These illustrations are looking good. First illustration from post 70 really grabs my attention. love the concept and composition the contrast between rage in the creature and the calmness in the magician makes for a great painting. Maybe some of the light from the balls of magic should be reflected on the creatures neck, that area looks a bit too dark. One thing I think will really help is trying to get my flow in your characters epsc in the way they hold their limbs can be a bit stiff at times. But conceptually you are doing some great work and the colours are really working well. Love that you are doing full illustrations with characters in a detailed environment its the kind of stuff i like to see. Glad you posted in my sketchbook cos now I have found yours cant wait to see more.

Awesome, great illustrations around here! And good to see that you've come back to your sketchbook after two years, makes your improvement look very impressive. I like it a lot how you work with the colour moods and themes.
The other people pointed already out that there are some perspective issues with the ground plane and the feet of your characters. Another thing are the overall size measurements. The squirrel and its acorn are quite big. Much bigger than in reality and doesn't really feel for me like it's your intention. Makes it feel wrong, even if it is painted well. The pillars in the picture with the girl and the panda have the opposite problem for me. They're small. If I imagine the girl standing straight there, especially on the right, it feels like she could bump her head at the upper parts. I don't think people would build temples with pillars, low ceilings and stuff there always the danger of bumping heads is around
My advice would just be to be a bit more careful about the comparison of objects size and the work with perspective. Your working is going to be really professional! Keep it up!

You've got some nice rendering in those last pieces.
People have already pointed out some of your shortcomings with perspective. Something I'd add and has to do with perspective and time, they look like characters painted on a background and not in a scene/environment. It's a problem I have to overcome as well, so good luck with the challenge.

    keep at it!

    New Year's resolution!

Seraph Fawkes- Thanks a lot! Yes...i have problems with legs. And its weird that when i line draw them tent to look fine and when im start painting them things just...are messed up.
Matelo- Thanks a lot for appreciation and all! its hard to match them some times both. I just need to work more and hope in time ill correct that, anyway ill keep this critique in mind!
ja1307-I have some limbs problems, also im trying to avoid putting them in perspective. I need to find time for more study...Thanks a lot man!
asa- Thanks! Ive seen you thread, you are doing an progress, keep it up
Greenhouse- Thanks! It is some progress but its in a pretty long period of time...i had some hard times, but now i hope the progress will be faster.
Kungfoowiz- Thanks a lot mate! The panda bead its really appreciated around here
Valyavande- Thanks a lot for critique! The squirrel i wanted to be bigger then normal to stand out but for the pillars the problem is that I lack studies...I paint a lot without references.
Just Call Me Bruce!- Hey Bruce! Yup, there is this big issue with the background. I always change the background colors and mood and maybe thats why i get this problems...but yea...striving to solve that.
kjylee- Thanks a lot! Maybe a bit to many details but its fine for now...
Lucarky- Thanks! Ill keep an eye on you thread
mcgara- thanks a lot! Im glad you like it!

Maybe for some of you 13 sucks but for me its a lucky number! aaaaa..actually it`s my favorite number and I will do my best to have an great year! I want to get to the ``next level``, i know ill will have to study hard to solve some of my perspective and anatomy of the body problems, this will be my main goal.
I was looking back, at the end of the year, and i have to say 2012 had an fucked up begin of the year and gone very bad for me(i was doing very boring stuff, ive got tired to fight for my ``dreams`` and i almost lose my interest in art)...but in the last part of the year things start moving great, ive got pumped and i`ve evolved a lot in my art! After all i didn`t expected at all to change that much life perspective and wishes in one year.

Have a great new 2013 and good luck with your goals!

Here are some stuff i can show, and yes, im looking forward to have HARD AND HONEST CRITIQUE guys! Also thanks a lot for the already offered advices.

wow man nice work and great improvement. Color and lighting wise your stuff looks way up there. Some of these illustrations are really professional looking, like the first and last ones in post #70. Some of the characters poses are very rigid, though you could probably work that off doing more gesture/anatomy work. keep going!

just want to second what has been said, to level these up you really gotta work on perspective and on loosening up those figures!
the comps could all benefit from having more interesting camera angles, the action ones especially
very nice rendering on them all, it seems that is your strong point, so i would focus on balancing it out a bit. and careful with the black! it seems to me your strongest pieces are the first one, the girl with the red hair, and the dragon with the red wings, and im sure its partly because of minimal use of black. actually, i really like the rendering in these 3 i mentioned, great work

Really nice bunch of stuff here, you've got some great colours, and really nice compositions and just general narrative work. There's some issues with stiffness in some of your poses, though the anatomy is good!

Your painting skills are definitely good. Colors look great too and I really like the environments you put your characters into, but I would work some more on the drawing part of the characters. Some of them look stiff or suffer from strange anatomy. They've improved from the older ones on the previous page though, so I guess you're moving in the direction. Looking forward to more!

    Cheers!
