Howdy! Nice strong start to a sketchbook, really dig what you've got so far, my favorite so far is the thINK piece. You've got a wayy better handle on everything than when i was 19. Cant wait to see more from you!

rob baby i want to make sweet love to u this stuff is byoooootiful. top one is unusually weak for u, ii know if its meant to be plastic then it should be a lot more reflective. yours looks more like its on its way towards rusty metal

also im slightly envious of ur 3d modelling cos i could never get my head round it. what programs u use, and is it hard? does it require any..maths?

horse one is better without the scribbly speech bubbles i think. ur gorilla reminds me so much of the main guy in my graphic novel, same posture...shape..everything ha. whats all the 3d monkey stuff for? XXXX update often pls XXX

    thanks everyone,

Sleep - Thanks! I use Wings3d for modelling and texturing, and Blender3d for animation, wings is the easiest polygon modelling tool I've ever seen, and doesn't require an ounce of mathematical knowledge, thank god. It's literally click and drag stuff. Blender is the most amazing free program I've ever encountered, it just takes some patience to learn how to do each individual thing, and there's a new bone heat tool that I'm in love with, for rigging (animation) where you just place a skeleton in the model and it works out how it moves the model. You should definitely try it out, it's a lot of fun.

The Models are for a game that my brother and I are making, I need to do more work on it though, I only seem to work on it when he's home. Maybe I'll be able to do it for one of my projects in animation at UWE

wookiedabo - Nah i'm studying animation next year, it's going to be awesome!

AustenFM, hueyyeng, fighting seraph - Thanks!

It's my 20th Birthday Tomorrow, leave me lots of birthday crits

It was the biggest coincidence yesterday when I ran into the model for ThINK's mom(?) on the newest deviation page a couple of minutes after I lurked in your sketchbook. Really weird.

Love that horse thing. And the monkey holding centre or whatever it is. Looks great.
If you have the time, please stop by my sketchbook, Chock Full o'Nuts.
I would appreciate any advice or critiques.

Really interesting ideas. I like the horse piece: the muted contrasting colors are interesting--especially since so many digital artists opt for high-contrast fantasy pieces (ahem). It's difficult to critique your (very cool) illustrative style, but perhaps more interesting brushwork could enhance the appeal.

Love the robot armor, and your blending is really nice. I'd love to see pencil drawings too though. Keep up the good work, I have nothing to critique yet.

Nlete - yeah you're right. oops
    freshlysqueezed - yay, thanks.
Jeremygordon - yeah I do a lot of pencil stuff but nothing that i take enough time over to be proud of, i'm more about learning computer processes these days.

So I've been looking for a project to make some three dee stuff for (I like the thought that my models will go to use after I've made them.), to help me learn the basics of game modelling. I found a really begginer game designer making a pokemon engine and thought i'd see if I could finish anything for him to maybe use. If this goes how it usually does when i start a model, I won't, but I really liked the idea of modelling a more realistic set of pokemon.

So far I have no clue about different maps, or more specifically, how to apply them, and I've never successfully normal mapped a model, i'm also going to try rigging in maya for the first time and learn how to use the marmoset toolbox.

All easter to work on this. yay!

    Go! VENUSAUR!

My Stoph may be prettier, but your sketchbook is prettier! Great 3D's, do you do traditional sculpture too? Just wondering if that kind of work would help with computer 3D, I want to try modeling too!!!

V- venusaur? Is that you? AhhhhAG-

Haha, that looks freaky. I love your concepts and style. The handling is great and the work is pretty funny. I'm getting some stiffness of a few figures, and I find your color pallet overwhelming on some of them (Like the ice cream man). Great work.

    Keep posting!
