    A Human SKull

Hey guys I was wondering If anyone knows where I can get myself a Human skull to study. I figured it would be a great way to study a still life and a piece of anatomy at the same time. Are they expensive? Thanks in advance

A google search for "human skull cast" will get you numerous options, of varying cost and quality.

You could get a much cheaper one from a props supplier, but it wouldn't be as anatomically accurate.

If you wanted to go for 100% accuracy they actually sell real human skulls on ebay. They go for $400 and up though, Lol. Best off just getting a replica on ebay, I'm sure you can find a good deal.

Back in high school and college I had a pretty decent model kit of a skull. It was pretty accurate, and wasn't very expensive, although I did have to glue a bunch of small pieces together. I would assume there are similar products out there some where. Try searching for model kits, or possibly even kids school science projects.

The Anatomical Chart Company has a whole range, ranging in price form under twenty to over 300 dollars.
Bone Clones does really nice casts, and you can choose from different ages, genders, ethnicities, even pathologies.

J Wilson, what you probably had was the old Revell skull model kit. It was good and cheap, but isn't available any more (the only ones that are are made from the Monogram molds, which aren't as good).

I got my cast from the coop of the med faculty at my local university for about 30$, I would expect they wouldn't be too bad if they sell them to med students. They also had whole skeletons (small) and partial limbs. I think they have them on Amazon too.
Edit: I just realised that you can see half of it in my avatar (the non-hairy half.)

Elwell, taking a look on the net, I'm sure you are right. Sounds like the same one I had (or have, sure it's somewhere around here). Man, it's too bad that kit is no longer being made, as it was quite good. A crap ton of parts and a pain to assemble, but I've never run into anything that good near that price.

Skulls Unlimited is a great place to look a well. I've ordered from them in the past for animal skulls, and they are excellent. The catalog is well worth buying, and it's $10 price is refundable with your first purchase.

    yo joe

Just get a cheapish one for now and get the over $100 skulls later on. something like this
    http://www.amazon.com/Budget-Life-Si...=pd_sbs_hpc_10
would probally suit your need for the time being. and its on sale! look around, just dont go too cheap, quailty really starts to slip.
