    I am glad that you are back. Massive update. To your art: You can add stronger shadow and light to your digis, it'll look more 3D, you know. Playing in black and white will learn you how shadow and light work. You can try something from life too. It's up to you. Looking forward to next art.

    Hi Dear,
    I just loved your sword designs and helmet designs....fantastic metal look..neat work. You have got a good sense of B/W lighting... specially, Dino Crisis drawings. Shapes and Armour designs are very creatively done. Good going, friend. Wanna see more of them......

    Don't worry about being away, mate. Everyone steps off from time to time. Just remember to get back on. You're really getting some depth in some of the heads you've been sketching up, and I'm rather impressed by the amount of ideas you have for helms and weaponry.

    As ever, very amused by the amount of jubbly bits kicking about. Far more honest to draw what interests you rather than what people expect you to be politely interested in.
    Constructive criticism is always welcome.

    Hello there mate! I`m following your sb quietly all the time, but I just wanted to drop by and say something to you.

    Don`t worry with taking time off, even though you cannot see it in this place, but I practice art everyday as I`m studying art in school as well as aside from school. It became my life, and I also just recently took a huge pause by sitting at home, and doing nothing usefull. After a while I got frustrated because I was not feeling comfortable somehow, and I couldn`t find the reason. That`s when it became clear to me that I should get up and grab a pencil or a brush or whatever. You recognize that you feel immediately feel comfortable, and you are actually enjoying the act of practicing or studying art again, and I became much more statisfied with my work, and actually my stuff became more creative. I realized that you really need to take a step back every once in a while, your mind needs it to comprehend everything again and reform your vision. It is the same as sleeping. You are resting, and that is necessary to take that next step you are fighting and working so hard for, and be able to proceed with a stronger will and state of mind.

    Get up and take your sword,
    you are needed on the front lines, warrior!!!!!
    If you are proud of what you did yesterday,
    you haven`t done today

    hey plissken! glad to see you updating man!
    and as quirky as ever;
    I doubt you'll be able to join the herd if you tried; they would spot you man. and turn on you... chickens can be nasty when they sense someone who is different. stay with us missfits here; it is much better!
    your dino & pencil girls belong in the celestial titty bar, which is this weeks EOW challenge btw. and I like the weapon designs. do you use photoshop? I just found these custom brushes; on of them is Z-FX 100 glow. I think it's standard, but I might have downloaded it.. anyway, you should try it on the highlighted areas of the metal. it looks great.
    Warning, I draw babiez

    Armors&weapons are looking awesome, I'd go with this set 12 to kill some zombies... Only suggestion I have - red colour as a background is pretty brutal, imo it could be a bit less intensive. These charas have very nice colours.
    Thanks for inspiration, never give up! Living dull life wont bring you fulfillment. I feel bad when I take breaks, sometimes it's hard to do anything, but seeing other people workin hard and getting nice comments is motivating. And also waiting for this feeling when you finally do something right, it's addictive

    My comment will be kinda dry but I'm tired and can't express my true feelings.
    Regina has a cute face but Rick's isn't even consistent.
    Nice weapon and helmet variety. The refd animals looks cool, I should go back to that book...

    Oh thank God!! you're back!

    I cant take the world without a bit of insanity mate, I little dose of plissken and I am a happy bunny!
    as to the work mate, good textures on the weapons, and the Armour is ok but have a look at the more extreme Maximilian stuff that was produced that could lead you down a new path. I love the skeleton guy and would love to see him in an environment just lose the leg irons he is much more menacing without them. Put him in a Victorian London type street scene with gas lighting and wisps of smog around the place so everyone is indistinct shapes, I think that would look seriously good my mate and worth the effort too.

    Thanks for posting my mate its always good to see your stuff.

    Hey Lieutenant, been a while.
    I really like your Dino Crisis re-imaginings. The characters show good balance and much improvement overall. I think you could make Regina sexier by giving less emphasis to portraying her tits and ass, subtlety goes a long way and you want to focus on making the whole character look nice, not just certain parts. Do you have access to life drawing classes? If so I urge you to try it, great fun and so much information packed to such a simple exercise. I've also noticed your linework seems hacky and uncertain at places, doing stuff like drawing from life with a marker is good for picking up what is most important in portraying form, mass and etcetera. And I wouldn't consider age a problem in anything if you put your mind and body into it.

    Also, this cracked me up.

    Take care man, and keep working hard.

    One question: Is it you on your "avatar" or how do you look like? I know it's a pretty irrelevant question, it's just that everytime I see you around on this site(which is pretty often) I wonder that, so now I took the courage to ask...hehe

    Hey, sir, age is just a number! Don't let younger people get you down--think of it as a battle of the new you vs. old you, not you vs. everybody else! As long as you're improving and making your own kind of progress, you should be proud of yourself. Just keep on working hard and posting.

    Hello Sir Plissken,

    Remember me??

    I hope all is well in yer rockin' world!

    You've been adding some tastiness to your sketchbook since my last visit ages ago!

    The Dino Crisis character concepts are looking good...as are the
    Unofficial Bitefight weapon concepts. It looks like you're really getting a handle on yer new Wacom. I'm partial to the first three and the last two weapons...and that axe is fantastic!

    I'm digging the armor studies and glad to see you still doing some graphite's! Yes...they should not be neglected!!!

    I love the looseness of the last 2 in #1928...I think those are inks? Yes? The last horse is a crack up! hahaha

    Lotza tasty schtuff in the second group of pencils (#1932). The creepy guy paint is a solid character and good concept. I'd love to see that one fully painted.

    Well, hope all is well...hopefully I can begin spending a little more time here...but prob'ly not as much as before.

    Keep up the good work my friend!!!!

    Ciao fer now

    Remember:

    form follows content

    software like the common used gfx is a restrictive frame and you have to see the limits which restrict. sometimes these frames have to be destroyed and to be questioned. if an artist like you begins to draw a piece at a table on a white piece of paper and realizes that he needs more space to communicate his ideas he has to pass the limits by drawing the rest of the whole idea on the table ! in the wacom or digital drawing software words:

    tools = limited
    tools in the software = frames in a kind of "a tool which was made for a particular result"

    you'll learn and see, that the wacom AND the software have their limits. limits you'll don't like.

    at this point: separate the wheat from the chaff
    use the tools in other ways, don't accept the outer frame of the tablet. don't accept only the pen as an input appliance. draw beyond the digital.

    I think you could do it. May the flow be with you and give you the power to see the limits. Otherwise you'll be one of the lamers who shows which tools he used in every piece.

    Amen

    By the additional post scriptum way: thanks for sharing your journey. It's a pleasure to see the growing, the achievment, the progress. As I mentioned in another thread of a guy, who thwarted his own progress by shooting only photographs instead of constant using of other materials: Don't stop growing!

    I can smell the will and the intention. Keep the momentum going! Every fucking second as soon as you wake up. You'll achieve the level you want, if you don't accept the skill-limits.

    I read your self-deprecating post about getting too old. And I have to admit, that is bullshit. Yes sir, bullshit. If you're feeding yourself that crap, I have to tell you - you are making your life harder than it is.

    I myself am twenty-two years old, and although I might not be one of the 'fresh new talents' that you talked about, I can assure you that I don't find you 'too old' to be doing this. I find your work refreshing, and much more engaging than some of the more highly rendered work in this forum. And as for your playground metaphor, I feel that who gets to play is decided by the one's who play on it. So as long as you've got so much support in the forum, I really don't think you need to burden yourself with this.

    I like your art, your personality (whatever I find online, anyway), and it's always a pleasure dropping by your sketchbook. I hope you get over these rough patches and keep this sketchbook running.

    EDIT: I read a long post about the shortcomings of the digital tools in here. Just want to say that traditional tools are also just that - tools. And all tools come with their limitations. I hope you continue to draw with the fervour that your new tablet brought you.

    Why should I put myself down? Which is a feeling just
    coming to go.
    Everything comes and goes! How good it is.
    Evil wars wont stay forever!
    Pleasant forms also go.
    Since everything just comes and goes O why be
    sad? Or glad?
    Sick today, healthy tomorrow. But O I'm so sad just the same!
    Just coming and going all over the place,
    the place itself just coming and going.
    We'll all end up in heaven anyway, together
    in that golden eternal bliss I saw.
    O how damn sad I cant write about it
    well.
    This is an attempt at the easy lightness
    of Ciardian poetry.
    I should really use my own way.
    But that too will go, worries
    about style. About sadness
    My little happy purring cat hates
    doors!
    And sometimes he's sad and silent,
    hot nose, sighs,
    and a little heartbroken mew.
    There go the birds, flying west a moment
    Who's going to ever know the
    world before it goes?

    Caspia;
    Drawing more what we like and less what people
    expect from us, I totally agree with that. Happiness
    filled my heart and soul as I read your reply and your
    praises make my eyes full of tears. I could not
    wish for anything better than this.
    Thank you for everything.

    Talis;
    Feel a warm pleasant thing around my heart when
    I hear that someone is following my work for a longer time.
    I do not know, will my late reply ever make up in trade for your kind words,
    but I have to say that I have been reading your thoughts through
    a few times, and they make perfect sense. Doing art, drawing and painting
    constantly does not feel right, nor natural. Need to take a brake, just like
    from everything else, and maybe that is the only way to reach our full
    potential. Your words came to me in the right moment, thank you for
    taking the time to put this all together and to cheer me up,
    you seem like a very good person, I really appreciate every
    step you made to bring the mood to the next level.

    Agnes;
    Hey there my dear, I think that it will be in vain to say
    sorry for not updating so long and for not visiting your book,
    but I have to say a sorry for the delayed everything. You are
    right, I am too obvious in the everyday life, I have to be here, I have
    to take my daily dope in the art world. I need to let my mind free.
    I have those brushes that you mentioned and they are awe-some,
    especially the glowing one, I am using it on almost every painting
    that requires a glowing effect. So I will not say anything else,
    you will be bombed in your book from me enough, I will
    spare you now from my nonsense rambling. Thank
    you for visiting here every time I update.

    Rafid;
    Special delivery looks damn good and hot,
    I feel really happy now, hahaha, thank you.

    JeremyGordon;
    I made my self a new obsession now by drawing
    and painting helmets and weapons. Good to know
    that you are here, observing my deeds, thank
    you for this slice of motivation.

    hu-ha;
    It’s totally allright to kill some zombies with the combination you have chosen,
    but it was meant to kill werewolves. The red color background is not my choice,
    it is implemented in the game, for which the concepts were meant. Indeed some
    of the designs look rotten and brutal with that red background. Well, I hope
    that I will inspire someone with these designs, but if not I had a cool time doing them.
    In the end I want to thank you, you know for visiting, caring and for sharing your thoughts.

    shiNIN;
    But I like when you write your true feelings and expression,
    unfortunately you were too tired this time. Well, I hope that
    you will be full of powerful energy next time we talk, cause
    I really could not imagine this place without your presence.
    Thank you for being here, supporting me each and every time.

    Lightship;
    I was back, then I went away again, more than a month, seems like this is
    becoming a pattern in my book. I bring some insanity again, but I am not suffering
    from it, I enjoy every moment. I was not sure what is ‘extreme Maximilian’, was
    googling it up, but did not find the right answer. I have removed the
    leg irons on the skeleton guy, just as you said, you were right, makes
    no sense on his legs, thank you for the tip. I did not put him in a Victorian
    London type street, but that is a very good idea, and now I am thinking,
    I should have done all in black and white, to bring up the creepy feeling.
    Thank you for never letting me down, and for bringing my spirit up.

    Rotor;
    Heyho my friend, the lieutenant is back, sorry for the longer pause and
    for the delayed answer. I am glad that you like what you see. As for Regina
    is concerned, first I did her with huge breasts and booty ass, but then the boss
    the guy that leads the game project, I do not know how you call it, he wanted
    a more down to earth Regina, and not a ‘jungle porsntar’ as he said, so I
    had to change it. Anyhow he does not know what’s right, I hope he will
    come to his senses one beautiful day. If not, that’s cool also. I do not have
    access to life drawing classes, I would love to, I would honestly love to,
    but that is not an option, not on the current location. I am trying to put
    my mind and body into my stuff, I want to improve more. As for the
    animal page, it’s just a book referenced thing, how to draw animals
    or something like that. I really appreciate your help and your support,
    sorry once again for my absence and the lack of my sobriety.

    Baconstrap;
    I tend to keep some fresh breasts all the time in my book, that’s just
    make things much more erotic and exciting. No it’s not me that on
    the avatar, but I would be most probably If I would have enough
    courage and real guts. He is something like a role model to me.
    How do I look like? Unfortunately I do not have a facebook
    account to show you, but you can see my mug on my google account,
    so if you ever add me there, you will see my beautiful face. I still
    have some fear posting my pictures here, cause my family
    would most probably ban me from their lives forever.
    I thank you for coming here and helping me my friend.

    Matija;
    If we would be zombies, we would not care about
    pain emotions and would not have any fear, just hunger and
    maybe some bloodthirst. Thank you for the visit
    and for the encouragement.

    Danny;
    Thank you, I am glad you like em, I would
    really like to see you doing some more weapon designs also,
    the one that you let me to color was a beautiful example.
    I am trying to improve my anatomy knowledge and my
    general game approach. Thank you for being here.

    Nor;
    The force is strong within us all in this community,
    you noticed that right, and I am very glad about it.
    I feel like Mark Hamill in his prime time. Thank
    you for helping me on the road to
    become a better person.

    Amarok;
    Thank you for these nice and kind encouraging words, I feel a bit younger
    now indeed, however my erection is still not as it used to be, I feel a bit
    sad about that. Either way I am very happy to see you here and your
    visit and reply makes me more motivated and energized.

    Jeff;
    I will surely not forget you, and we could do some collab once again.
    You know me, I like to keep it sharp and crisp, and I like the tastiness
    around here. the new Wacom is helping me tremendously in my new
    projects and designs, it’s a real pleasure working with it. Ah, all those
    positive words and praises, will just spoil me. I have to be criticized more,
    I need to be treated bad, so I would push the pace more. Sorry for not
    updating so often lately, looks like it’s more natural for me this way,
    at this moment. I gather more work and post it once in a month.
    Just a phase that I am going through. I am glad, and feeling good
    about your visit and your detailed review about my post work.
    Hope that you are feeling good and right, thank you for everything.

    Harbinger;
    Hello and welcome, I am happy to see someone new,
    hope that you will stick around, cause there will be some
    more horrific stuff and showcasing in here.

    surus;
    Have not seen you for a long time, but when you post,
    it’s surely worth the attention and the respect. We are thinking the same
    about the tools and their limitation. “This is my tablet, there are many others
    like it....” is my parody attempt, if you remember the movie ‘Full Metal Jacket’,
    a very powerful movie, so that thing just crossed my mind, when I got my large
    Wacom. To be honest, I think that I would definitely pull off my visions and
    some quality with the old small one, but with this new stuff, I can do it more
    quicker, more efficient and with less frustration. Yes, the artist can express
    himself through countless things and combinations. You can do art from
    match sticks, or from sand so I guess, there are no limits ahead, just a question
    of motivation and will. I feel proud that you have such a positive opinion about me
    and my work, and that you have faith in me. Those things makes me to work more
    and replies like yours is, makes me to feel more confident and gives me a reason to
    come here and to update something. I will keep on sharing my
    journey and will share my experiences with you all, you do not
    have to thank me on that. I am the one who should be thankful
    for everything here, for this beautiful community and the prominent
    people composing it.

    Liberty;
    Happy that you like the weapons and the
    stuff above. Thank you very much.

    Black Spot;
    I was naughty and away for so long, I am
    sorry about that, thank you for not giving
    up on me.

    Tim;
    I am getting better and better each and every day.
    I just need to reduce a bit my beer intake, and
    everything will be like perfect. Thank you for
    caring and for supporting.

    Lightship;
    Yes, beer was never an issue, my fridge is always ready,
    I am not going to sleep without a good cold beer. Space beer.
    I will try to bring on the heat once again, to make drawing
    more interesting as it really is. I want to make a new approach.
    Thank you for coming here all the time, reminding me about
    my medicine and cheering me up. Just as I said we will one day
    have a great famous company together .

    Ghast;
    I feel so much over rated just because of the amount of
    support and attention I get here. Well, I guess I did not deserved
    all this, but I will try to build my things up to the hype. I love
    to sneak in some random porn, and as the matter of fact I most
    love to draw and paint those things, those are the most sweetest ones.
    Thank you for coming here spending your time to show me attention.

    Vritra;
    One of the most quality and reasonable replies you have, and I always
    feel honored when I say your name in my sketchbook. I was asking
    for a miracle and a miracle happened in the shape of your presence.
    All right, I will not beat myself up anymore with the too old thing.
    I will try to. I will try to focus only on the main goal, drawing and doing
    stuff that we do best. And that’s not killing. Maybe you have a too high
    opinion about my work, but it definitely feels good to read your kind
    words. Rendering out some piece, some piece that has no spirit or no
    special meaning was never my stuff I guess, I just lose patience on half
    way and go to another project. I find much more interesting and worthy
    to do a small short graphite sketch which has a certain dose of humor
    and spiciness, than rendering out a ceramic cup or a medieval armor.
    But that’s just me. A lot of them think differently and most of them
    consider rendering out some subjects till perfection, and focusing only
    on the technical side of the game, for being fun. Everyone has their own
    views and philosophy, mine is a bit strange, weird and twisted. I feel
    good when someone accepts my sickness and give a positive feedback.
    My personality is on a complicated level, that is how I see it, I cannot
    find myself in the real world, most probably like many others out there.
    I am always looking to run away from any kind of responsibilities, and
    that is not some virtue that any one would be proud of.
    I appreciate what you did to help me to improve and all
    the words and replies that you wrote, it does make a
    difference in my art and general career.

    Abee;
    You have put those lines totally outstandingly together,
    I like every sentence, your creative endeavor is a total
    payoff. After I read your reply, I was started to think about
    stopping living upstairs, and going living downstairs. Or
    maybe to make a pause and go somewhere in between, nor
    down, nor up. Moving from over here to over there, not too
    far away. Sometimes my mind jumps into some trenched
    loop modes, and I cannot get out of them, like the dark zone
    of the shadow fields. The cat hates doors, they require little
    rotating flipping turn-around doors, which do a flip flop
    when pushed. Those are pretty cheap and can be bought at
    the closes China shop. I do not want to be sad any more,
    I do not want to be afraid and to worry, I want to
    be happy and to feel positive. Thank you
    for the kind and beautiful words,
    you are one of a kind.

    Friends, thank you for coming here all the time,
    being patient to wait for these pointless updates, and sorry
    for the poor replies above, I tried to give a short not so
    copy/paste looking answers to each of you kind people.
    Please feel free to share your thoughts with with me,
    and do not withheld from any rough or crisp reply.
    I like it hard and rough, cause where is no pain,
    there is no gain.
