    Silwynar;
    it reminds a bit on Gandalf, however
    I used a different reference for this old sucka.
    I used one of Loomises drawings from his book, and
    I altered the drawing a bit. I have elongated the face,
    and changed some facial features, but the idea is basically
    the same. Well, this is almost all for the day, cause I have
    been watching porn stuff for about 4 hours and I did not managed
    to collect any motivation today to do any art.
    I could watch porn day and night.
    Thank you for your input.

    Surion;
    It looks like Gandalf, but it's not suppose to be him,
    I am not a real fan of Tolkien's stuff, and I never had
    the patience to read or watch the Lord of the Rings.
    Thank you, I am glad that you like the remake of the drawing.

    Ramalooke;
    You are totally right, something is not right with that drawing,
    remake of the drawing, and now I realize it as longer I watch it.
    You are right, I should have definitely increase the contrast.
    I am lazy to do that right now.
    Thank you for your support.

    devastacio;
    I am real happy that I have a good friend and a strong supporter.
    I am not in my too creative phases lately, cause I have dedicated
    my time mostly to do anatomy studies and trying to learn some basics
    of drawing, which I have missed in my youth. I cannot build a house without
    a good base. I have to do these things first and then I could do some more
    stuff out from my imagination. Thank you for motivating me.

    Naidy;
    Glad that you like the remake of the old man drawing. You are right about
    the irises, and I could have done this piece much more realistic, but I
    put only 20 or 30 minutes in coloring and texturing it. Maybe I will do some
    work on it in the future, when I have more motivation. Afterall this is one
    of my more pencil markable drawing. It has to follow me through my art career.
    Thank you for visiting me agian, you alreay know, you are my number 1 supporter.

    I love your sketchbook and dedication ^ ^

    I dont know if you have, but have you tried drawing people from life ? It might help with proportions and drawing from imagination.

    But keep up the studies, ^ ^

    I see were going trough the same lessons. Currently im learning the pelvis area. Have so much more to go !

    btw abt the images... LOL @ 2nd picture and good that you're keeping up the studies.

    Anyway apply the knowledge that you have gained already and do something new so that you can test yourself. if you dont do that chances are you might forget lots of information later.

    Keep posting mate.

    I don't like those sketches, they seems to be done very quickly and without any attention. To be honest u don't need to draw those skeletons, and stuff to draw a figure. Of course it's necessary to know what’s going' on under the skin but if u want to improve ur figure drawing, try to catch basic shapes, and proportions. Do life drawing, or photo reference as much as u can. Ofcourse I'm a noob and I may be wrong whith my advice. If so then let someone more experienced correct me. Anyways. Don’t get discouraged, keep going, never give up, eat lightening then shit thunder! >< xD

    Oh and btw. I have problems with drawing legs, as well ;P

    Hey man,

    I like the way you're going about learning your figures and practicing that. I'd suggest you look at some different figure drawing geniuses, as well as (what appears to be) your Loomis work.

    Placing heads is often a weak point of mine, as well.

    I think quick figure studies are quite useful as well (from observation). Allow yourself some time to properly judge the angles of the shoulders and hips before you go too far into anything. Before you start any figure (from your head, from reference) allow yourself time to think about WHAT THE FIGURE IS DOING. Stand up, do the pose, make note of what you're doing and general relationships between your body parts. If you have a full length mirror set it up right beside your desk and pose yourself, try to remember it, then draw it.

    Every now and then it's also important to go in with a referenced figure and really be analytical with it. Break it down into three dimensional forms and make generalizations between between muscles to try and commit it to memory. I think Hogarth's observations and analogies between parts of the figure and every day objects is often useful.

    I know you're probably doing a lot of that, I also wanted to type it to remind myself. I'm also working with my figures day in and day out. Good luck and I'll drop by more.

    you have some great new studies in here! Really like the perspective studies and the mannikin stuff is really good too. I should definitely go back to doing a bit more of that myself sometime soon. Your dedication is very inspirational. I too am becoming more and more obsessed with Concept art so I can really see how you feel about it. Its exciting to know that other people out there are feeling the same and studying as hard as you and I are.

    Silwynar;
    hello again, thank you for your constant support.
    I am glad that you like this update better than the previous one.
    Anatomy studies, anatomy studies and anatomy studies, you know my
    motto, it says; never give up!
    The smoky guy is called Smoke Bone.
    I know the proportions a lot of the time suck, that is because I am far from
    being good at drawing, but I will work on that of course.

    qlotzan;
    Nice to see you again, I am happy that you like my latest
    studies and that you think my drawing presentation is unique,
    that means much to me.
    Do not worry, I will not turn the lights on for Smoke Bone,
    I like him to stay in dark for now, let him explore the gloomy environment.
    I enjoy using a conversation balloons, cause that just fulfills me and I feel
    that detail on my drawings so natural. A dumb drawing is just sooooo .... dumb.
    Thank you for your reply.
    Hey, and I want to thank you for including my name in your signature.
    Could you just put a beer mug, beside those smiley hugging?
    That would be great, if there is a beer mug amongst the emoticons.

    JackF;
    Hello friend, I wish you a welcome here in my house of art.
    I rarely draw people from life, cause I almost do not have any opportunities for that at all.
    However I know I should do that also, but sometimes a person just cannot manage to achieve
    all that he should achieve, because of time limitations or because some other circumstances.
    Thank you very much for visiting, and encouraging me, believe me it means a lot.

    Bethany;
    You mean you started playing the game Lord of the Rings or you started watching the movies?
    Now, as days passes by, I am more and more disappointed in that remake of mine, anyway
    I am glad that at least someone likes it. I will do some more Smoke Bone series in
    the near future. Thank you very much for your support.

    devastacio;
    Yes, we are going through the same lessons, and that is just great.
    I understand what you mean by testing yourself right after you went
    through some lesson. Well, sometimes I do that, but when time restricts me
    than I just have to roll on. Many times, life looks too short. Of course that is,
    if you are not in prison. Thanks for the reply.

    lolbbq;
    Interesting name, like a laughing barbeque, coool.
    Thank you for your visit, it means much, and I should say
    that you extra motivated me with voting on my thread, that
    just boost a bit my score, and that is of course, more than nice.
    I return the favor.

    Ramalooke;
    Sometimes I do not like my studies either, but they just must be done, so I
    could advance and evolve. They are not done too quickly and I had my full attention
    doing them, the problem is that I am just not too skilled so they look a bit lame. Sorry
    cause of that. I hope that after time and time of exercising and studying, my things will
    get better, just as Rocky got better in boxing after a lot of training.
    Well, it is very arguable, should one draw skeleton and anatomy studies, I personally
    think that you need to do it, and a lot of others think the same, I agree that you need
    to do photo references and life drawings, but they are surely not a substitute for anatomy
    and bone studying. Anyway, time and experience will give you the answers to that discussion.
    Thank you for your advices and for the support, much appreciated.

    Quigleyer;
    Hey buddy, what’s up?
    I did not do quick figure studies for a long time now, you are right, I should
    implement those also in my regular study schedule, the only thing is that I do
    not like doing them. I do not like doing anything in a fast and hurried manner,
    but looks like it’s just becoming a problem to me in art.
    I am thinking before drawing, but I fail anyway, guess I just need more time
    and experience. Breaking down things and trying to go 3D is a phase that I
    am trying to conquer currently.
    Thank you for the time that you dedicated for trying to make me a
    better artist with your advices and tips, I appreciate it.
    And of course, visit me anytime, cause your help means much to me.

    Assi;
    That’s the spirit!!!!!!
    Help me.
    Help me to slay the first monster!
    I know, you know, we all know that it’s not a simple task,
    but together we can do it.
    Get your arms, and into battle we go!!!!!!

    Thomas;
    We are on the same page then, you know what does it mean,
    being obsessed with this art community. We have the same
    poison in our blood, we have the same will and desire to conquer
    unconquered territories. Glad that we are on the same ship, and I
    can assure you, that we are sailing in the right direction.

    I decided to do imaginary things more often, trying
    to pull out something favorite out of my mind, something
    that I loved, something that I played, something that I
    liked in the past, some character, or item,
    and I will test my self, how good I am
    at recalling that certain thing, and how good I am rendering
    them down with no help and zero reference.
    I think that KingKostas said once in his sketchbook,
    that you should do your art as you play a video game,
    and that is one of the very best advices that I read here,
    cause it's actually working. You should draw and gather
    experience, just as you would roam in Diablo in those
    dark underground labyrinths slaying hell spawns and
    strenghtening your characer up.

    I was maniacally listening Trent Reznor's
    creepy ambientals these days, which changed
    the state of my mind pretty hard.

    Hey there,

    man those perspective drawings look great. After i saw those i also wanna try em out Its good that you stylize your studies (text bubbles etc) it gives a nice finish to the image.

    btw when you do figures in perspective try detailing the figure a bit more. Itll be challenging yet rewarding. Try it out sometime.

    The Nail-gun looks promising. I think this is similar to the Flack-canon in Unreal Tournament eh? . Man,I really hope you detail it more, shade it out and paint it nicely. Btw try using this small utility for color harmonies.

    Did you mention DIablo??? Cant wait till Diablo 3 releases !! I played a game called 'Torchlight' lately that has the same playstyle as diablo 2 but different plot and less serious. But i really like it. check it out.

    Great quote man. Even if you are not all the way satisfied with how your extreme perspectives came out, every study you do and retain something from will help you, and the fact that you had the cojones to do it from your head says a lot too. Keep it up! (I'm saying this for myself as well as to you )

    I like old man painting, and your anatomy studies starting to sound. Keep goin my friend! Oh, and I'm glad for your decision. Especially for Intuos 4 ^_^. Either S-model or M-model should satisfy any artist. I am currently painting with 4M, and this is the best tablet after Ciniq (oh my, those 21 inches of sheer sensority...). nice work you have so far. i really dig how you handled the strokes on your gandalf drawing and those weapon drawing look solid too.
    i recommend a little time to study on kevin chen's demos for your figures, especially on the anatomy[or more importantly, form shape] of the pelvis.
    keep up the good work

    Hope you are working on the 'Nail Gun concept' btw when i was going trough your concept again and was thinking..."Where do you insert ammunition cartridges?". You may wanna think about it and detail that area since it will add more realism.

    Just wanted to give these links so you can get some ideas. They are gun models in UT2004 and UT3. Take a look. Hope it helps.

    Ramalooke;
    Perspective is tricky. I have to become a magician
    to create an illusion, for objects on paper to
    look like three dimensional. Crazy as hell.
    Thank you for the encouragement.

    Surion;
    Glad that you like them.
    Will try to do more of perspective things,
    until my head blows apart.
    Thank you.

    devastacio;
    I feel that it is too early for detailing my figure in perspective,
    I am still lost here, and I do not feel safe, maybe I should draw
    a hundred or thousand perspectived figures, and then I should
    try to detail them. Anyway, thanks for that advice, I think I will be
    losing patience pretty soon and that I will try to detail the figures.
    I have never played Unreal Tournament, but I have google imaged up
    the “Flack-Cannon” and it looks fantastic. However I think that this nail
    gun form Quake is more conservative, done on wire-wood-nail base, and
    not so futuristic. But either way, both of those devastators could send a demon
    straight to hell. In pieces.
    Thank you for the colorscheme link, it is really useful.
    Yes, I was talking about the game Diablo, I was obsessed with the first part,
    I think that I have played that one somewhere around 1997/98. I played it a lot
    of times, days and nights. Then I played the 2nd part, but it did not fascinated me
    as much as the first part. They exchanged quality for quantity. Anyway, the 3rd
    sequel would be great, I mean Blizzard is amazing.
    I did not tried ‘Torchlight yet’, thank you very much for turning my attention to it.
    The screenshots look promising. The last PC game that I have played was Fallout 3.
    Thank you very much for your kind words and for your support, I will visit you later,
    get the beer ready. Do not cool them down too much.

    Stacybean;
    You see, I play now this big game, better than any game I have ever played in my life,
    cause this game brings me real life experience, and it makes me meet real people and real
    friends. I have to slay 3 beasts, and basically I have a habit of finishing all the games that I start,
    so I am planning to finish this one also. There is no uninstalling, until I get the final boss vaporized.
    Thank you very much for being on my side in this great epic battle.

    Kungfoowiz;
    Hey bro, what is happening?
    You know about those mecha anime series, when 5 or more smaller mecha armored things
    need to join together to create a super mega big unstoppable Mecha?
    I think that all these small studies and trainings that I am doing currently, are my small mechas,
    and they will join together one day.
    Thank you for your reply and support.

    Seraph Fawkes;
    The M and S, on Intuos 4 means, like small and medium? Is there a large version?
    How small is the small one? Ciniq? I will have to check that out, never heard about
    that one. How much does the Ciniq cost? Sorry for bothering you with these tech
    informations, but I have the feeling that you know all the things here.
    Thank you for replying and for supporting me.

    a la bapsi;
    hello, hello, I think that we haven’t met yet, maybe I am wrong,
    but I do not remember you. I did not heard about Kevin Chen yet. Do you
    have some direct links for recommendation? If not, then I will google him up
    when I have a gap in my time. Thank you very much for visiting me, I will come to
    your house later surely and review what you got, if you do not have nothing against it.

    qlotzan;
    thank you very much.
    I respect what you did.
    Drinks on me.

    Bethany;
    I like to read good books, when I have a lot of free time, and when I do not have
    access to any computer. I am crazy about Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or movies like that,
    but I never got attracted by Lord of Rings, I just do not know why, and this guy Tolkien
    does not fascinate me, no disrespect of course. You could share your impressions with me,
    after you finished reading the books, maybe you will make me to change my mind and get
    my hands on those masterpieces.
    Actually, I have an additional mission now, and it goes like, draw 100 heads/faces, which is
    going extra slow. Currently I am at the head 41, and there is a lot to go. I will post when done.
    Thank you for the encouraging words and for the support.

    Ramalooke;
    I believe that my digital skills improved, and
    I feel that I could render much better than I did a few months ago.
    However, I am not really in a digital phase now, I am in a graphite pencil
    phase. The thing is when I get caught up with a lot of pencils drawings,
    then I have no motivation for going digital, and vice versa.
    Seems that those two phases changes in me like the weather.
    Thank you. Again.
    Double thanks.

    Parsakoira;
    Very happy to see you here and I like the fact
    that you think that I have made progress. Thank you.
    Stay close, cause barbeque is on this Saturday.

    Sean McClain;
    Hey Sean, I almost thought that you are John McClain.
    Thank you for visiting and for the words of encouragement.

    devastacio;
    hello again. Glad that you went into more detailed analysis of the nailgun.
    When I finished drawing it, I realized my mistakes. And there are
    more flaws there of course, which makes the gun unusable. That all happened,
    cause I was not thinking much about the gun to be realistic, I was focusing mainly on putting
    the thing correctly in the certain perspective, making it geometrically correct
    as it can be and the most important to look good and close to the one from the game.
    I repeat, I did not used any references, I just dig up the info out of my memory. I played
    Quake a lot of years ago. I am not working on it currently, I am doing some other quake
    Imaginary studies. Thank you for the Unreal Tournament weapon links, means a lot.

    Loathsome;
    If more than one person says that I have improved,
    that surely means that I have improved. And that is why
    I am here for, to improve. Yaey, I feel great. Thank you
    for the words of encouragement.

    Quake II - Gladiator
    Same story as with the Nailgun,
    trying to recall this character from the
    game, with zero references.
    Used mechanical graphite pencils HB and 2B, and
    after I modified it digitally.
    The interesting thing is, that after I finished this one,
    I looked up the original from the game, and I realized, that
    it had the railgun mounted on his right shoulder and not on
    the left, and he did not had a right arm at all,
    oooooops.

    She was caught in the deep deep jungles,
    on her exploration mission. She played a
    lot of Lara Croft games as a child,
    and she grew up thinking that she was a
    hard core adventurist.
    Her rich daddy sent her pretty soon out to
    fulfill her dreams and desires.
    She landed somewhere,
    lost the control over her airplane, and she's
    been caught, by an undiscovered village
    full of savage poeples.

    The tribals planted her on a high tree trunk,
    somewhere about 20 meters (65.6ft) tall, all through the
    night, so her vagina and anal opening could go
    totally numb, so she could feel less and
    be more lifeless and sedated,
    when the whole village gangrape her anally
    early in the morning.
    A few times in a row.
    That is just an old native habit there.

    After the rape ceremony,
    her limbs and head
    will be cut off and she will be cooked and
    eaten by the village people.
    Her digested flesh in fecal shapes,
    will serve to immensely increase the cereal
    growth all over the land, thankfully to her
    sacrification to the old native spirits.

    Hey man Quake II - Gladiator design looks awesome!! despite how it really look in the original game. Love to see it detailed and shaded.

    Too bad you abandoned your 'Nail Gun" design. Maybe ill rework it after i finish the anatomy DVD lessons. with your permission, of course.

    Ahh about the girl....Touching story. anyway you wanted to add more flavor into it by bringing in a Rape case !! i was wondering how many guys in the village?
    Btw nice sketch man. I like the way you used the pencil strokes.

    All in all good work! Keep it up. Im also working on a weapon design. Unlike the previous dagger design its not related to my future concepts. Just came into my mind when i was going through Unreal Tournament weapon list. I did a very rough sketch for now. Probably will finish by tmrw. its called "Tiger claw machete".

    Hey mate, how are you today?
    Nice to see you working on characters in perspective, very tricky stuff but it will really make them pop out of the screen.
    Oh and I'm loving your morbid little stories haha!
    Keep rocking mate!

    yeah I feel pretty the sam like u. It works in other way when,
    I'm drawing everyday for about 4 hours a cartoony shit in work. Then I can't look on my graphic tablet.

    @your latest arts.

    Well I observed a little improvement on your characters, but they still seem to feel a little stiff. Maybe try doing more dynamic gestures? anyways good work
