Been busy with CHOW and moving into my apartment.
i might not have internet access for a while after thursday. (I live behind a dorm though so i'm hoping I will be able to pick up my uni's wireless. )


I FINALLY feel motivated again. Finally finally finally past the burnt out stage and ready to start doing more hardcore figure studies. I had lost sight of my goals for a while and now I feel much more inspired and spent a lot of time educating myself.

you might see some graphic design stuff pop up in here time to time since that's my major ;p

anyway
here's one o fmy CHOW pieces, not done yet, didn't get a chance yet to go back in and fix the multiple things wrong with it. (And i regret choosing this composition...it was not the best for CHOW guidelines.)

The colours and the rendering on that last piece kick ass man, the way you handled to fur areas in particular is great. I think it could do with a few areas being a bit sharper, but that's a minor issue and it works great with the soft style you have now. I mean this wholeheartedly when I say keep up the great work!

Are you teaching yourself?, cause that's what I've been doing (even though I got a worthless art degree...LOL) Here are some anatomy books in my collection, i've found that every one has something to offer.. I've scoured through them many times, and I always come back to them (cause' the learnin' never stops! ) I'm assuming you've heard of Loomis, Burne Hogarth, and Bridgman all of their books are great... My anatomy teacher in college recommended these two,
Artistic Anatomy by Dr. Paul Richer, and
Human Anatomy for Artists by Eliot Goldfinger
These books are really thorough for learning insertions and origins of all the muscles.. (yes you HAVE to learn where they are , there's just no shortcut...)
also, check out The Artist's Complete Guide to Facial Expressions by Gary Faigin.. I don't like his drawings as much per say, but if you want to learn about the subtleties of the face, that book is the s*&t. You have a great spirit and I look forward to watching you grow! Happy learning!

It'll be good to see some stuff outside of TeamCHOW. I'm really interested to see where you'll go next. I was thinking of starting a training camp thread centered around gesture,anatomy, and color. The curriculum and speed will probably be pretty hardcore, but if you and anyone you can drag along wants to get the ball rolling on something let me know.
