Other drawing wips... probably will paint these for practice. I've started painting the robot one... hopefully going to post a WIP of it soon.
Drawing for paint later
Painting progress of Tin Man piece:
I think I forgot to post the update on how this one was turning out.
The Storm -- same characters from the "Dragon" piece from earlier in the sketchbook thread.
Girl with snake drawing:
Playing with watercolor/guache etc on the drawing from a few posts back.
your artwork is really powerful and emotive, excellent work!
Thanks Denzel!
Here is another drawing I'm working on... I should be getting ready to paint it today hopefully.

Let me guess. Blue is Your favourite colour.![]()
Yeah, it sure seems like it.I do a lot of my underpainting in blue or sometimes transfer stuff to a better sheet of paper with just blue ink and then paint it.
Cyan is always the first cartridge to go to empty on my printer as well.
I guess it's in my digital work too... this is very blue as well..
I recently realized I purchased the Phil Noto gnomon DVD a while back, but never wound up watching it.
Currently I'm following along with the tutorials, but painting my own character as I watch.

Pool hall guy... experimenting with some stylization while I was drawing at a coffee shop.

Hi,
I've been adding color/paint to the pool-playing guy. I thought I would update on where I'm leaving it tonight before I head to bed.
Beautiful art!! I love that your finished pieces still seem to hold onto a lot of the looseness from your original sketches.
Thanks Amarok! That's one of the major things I've been trying to achieve over the past while.
I added more progress to this one... recap on the more monochrome portion with my latest steps.... it's still work-in-progress

I finally had some time to sit down and get this one further along. I know it has been a while:

Great great GREAT artworks man! Really nice style!
Thanks Dennis!
Here's some more progress... not sure how different it looks from the previous one. I don't have a lot of time each night to work on it so... baby steps (I guess)
Thanks for the input!
I made additional progress on my other piece:
This was an image I did a while back to serve as the poster for an independent film:
New piece!
Drawing and final illustration (so far) in its state of progress:

great great great GREAT stuff here man. I love the Juno piece. How long did it take you to create it? From first thumbnails to final illustration?
MY SKETCHBOOK--------->http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=222689
Thanks Amara,
I did the juno piece a while ago back when when I was concentrating really hard on trying to do illustrative portraits that achieved a likeness.
I started out just doing pencil sketches of both the actors for a while (along with other characters from other films)... people in my illustration program seemed pretty positive towards my juno sketches so I wound up re-doing them full figure as a watercolor/ink piece.
I was lucky... I banged out most of it in an afternoon/evening. I did some digital fixes later on to it though to clean up some things.
Sorry... I don't really remember how long it took me. It was done pretty sporadically over the course of a week or two outside of my course-work and classes. The meat of it was pretty much done in a day though.
I think it was done right after the christmas break that year... I probably did a bunch of sketches over Christmas break and then finished it sometime during the next two weeks back at school to hand it in for an assignment.... digital fixes were probably done after the fact (I think) -- hopefully that answers your question![]()
Nice updates, absolutely LOVE the 'pool-hall guy'
I've been considering growing a moustache myself I must admit.

Post #130 it's quite unique, great work Kennygeeze! Keep posting your work, you are amazing!
Lovely work! I really like all the detail, it lends a slightly loose style to your work even when it's finished, which I like! Keep posting!
Absolutely beautiful work. Love the movement, your color choices, the personality that comes through your characters. You successfully capture that 'moment in time' brilliantly.
