I'm really digging your traditional medium stuff! Mas oils por favor! You doing "Newborn"? I'd like to but it might be kind of a time sink, unless I gear it for my portfolio.

So I was inspired by everyone's speedpaints and self-portraits. So I decided to join in the fun. I haven't done a self-portrait in...um...two years or so, so this was good practice. Done in about an hour, hour and a half tops. Which is really fast for me....cuz I am a very very slow artist. Much to my chagrin.

Second pic is cat sketches for an illustration I will be working on. Third pic is just warm-up sketches done before, after, in the middle of other projects, and the fourth is more of the same. From imagination.

Nice work so far, I like the poses in the last post. Hehe, a female devil/demon shaking her booty.^^
I like the self portrait, though a little more shading could have made it even better. But I don't know how light was reflecting on you reference, sooo... I could be wrong.

Keep it up! I'd love to see some color studies as wel.

    Same thing mate..

Is it normal to be reminded of aristocats...? O_o

Some very nice stuff as usual Summers, I like the self portrait and the awesome poses.

I should stand like that more often. Attract the opposite sex with my epic power stance.

Amazing stuff here, and all could be used as an avatar, look at this,

That's one of my favs out of the faces, I like the expression.

Keep up the good work, I'm watching.

    Kinda creepy, oops.

Thank you so much you guys for all of the awesome comments! Much much appreciated.

Been MIA for a while. Went on staycation, then picked up some extra hours at work, so life has been busy lately. Haven't gotten as much art done as I would like.

So, quick update. First is a quick Fan-art, pin-up style, of Rogue. I've been wanting to do a fan-art of her for like forever. Unfinished at the moment.

Second is a quick sketch/paint test for the latest chow, Pride and Prejudice. Don't know if I'll be continuing this or starting another. Still working on my digital painting technique.

Next is an unfinished speed paint. I'll probably work on this more when I get the chance.

    Lastly more warm up poses.

Everything today is from imagination! Yay me! Probably should do more work from reference though....Well, next time. =)

Those are great. but that 3rd one! Incredible! I don't think it needs finishing, I love it.
Working this much from imagination is clearly having a positive effect. If you can add the information gained from reffed studies to your already animated imagination poses/faces, I think you will be pretty much unstoppable!
    Looking forward to more, Peace!

    Wow, nice work.

As for the Rogue sketch: Something weird is going on with her shorts. ^^ Some perspective issues, the shorts look like they're not following the form of the butcheeks.

Nice work on the third piece, I would love to see that one finished.

    Keep ist up!

Gorgeous linework. When you're 'in the zone' it looks so confident and bold. Seems like you're finding your way in the digital world pretty well too.

Sometimes the anatomy looks a bit off or stiff, though. Not sure if it's because you take your time with some and simply don't pay that much attention to others. Could be something to keep in mind in any case.

Colours also look great. Would love to see more coloured traditional work, if you have some

Sorry I disappeared for a while everyone!!! I was away visiting my boyfriend and I've been sick since I returned. Trying to work through it. Some days are better than others. That's life I guess!

Nicky S: Methinks you are correct, sir. I'll be going back to fix that and finishing her up sometime soon, I hope.

Hai: Thank you! Yeah, the anatomy often eludes me, I must admit. =). I like sketching from imagination so I'm usually making silly mistakes and moving on to the next thing without fixing them. I'm uploading an older traditional work that I did today. More to come when I get some decent pictures of my more recent work.

DanLambert: Thanks so much for all your awesome comments! Sorry I fell off the "sketchbook buddy" wagon. I'm back on I swear! =)

OmertA: Thank you! Faces are my favorite thing to draw...

    So some updates....

Fist painting is an oldy, but I thought I'd put it up since I don't have much of my traditional work up here. I painted this my last year of college (oh goodness now I feel old). It represents my feelings towards the act of painting. Looking back at it now there are a lot of things that need to be fixed, but I'm still pleased with it. It definitely represents a time in my life. Done with good ol' faithful oil paints.

So moving on to the new stuff. These sketches were for the NPC chow, but I ran out of time and wasn't able to finish. I got off to a late start due to traveling. I'm still planning on finishing these up for my portfolio, though. I really enjoyed doing this too...like paper dolls...hehe.

    More updates to come soon!

Ooohn, drawing and paint goodness, watch out with the pose of the last character, try to rotate her pelvis a bit more, so that she's is leaning more on one leg, this will make the pose less static and will make it even more interesting to look at.

I'm waiting for the next update!

    Alexson: Thank you very much!

Nicky S: Ah more to fix! Lol. Thanks for the help. =)

Yes...I'm still working on this elf-alien woman. every time I put it away I seem to come back to it and fix it up a bit. I'm finally liking her face, so hopefully I can succeed in making it come out good.

Playing around in photoshop today, trying to learn to paint skin. I always end up overwhelmed by my color choices, so I'm trying to layout my colors ahead of time and work on limiting myself.

Last two are the sketches I did for the Black River Crew Chow.

Some sketches from my sketchbook. Hand from anatomy book. Lastly some perspective studies. I'm really horrible at perspective, so I'm trying to learn....any suggestions on how to get a better handle on perspective (methods, books, etc.) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Also...sorry for the horrible digital photos!
