    Critiques please

Hey everyone, I put this together as my chow this week, I was a little ambitious
I would like some honest criticism here on what you think, I want to be able to finish in a week but I think this piece would probably need to be done two or more for me to do it at least, but what I would like to hear is some tips on how to do that or if your just wanting to point something out thats totaly fine

    Hello,

I have noticed that your drawn has a black trace, as if it was a lineart. I suppose you have done it to guide you while painting the figure.

I have surrounded two places with this black trace with a red line. But there are other points in your drawn with it, as in the superior part of the knight, from one hand to another.

At first, try to remove this line, and check the result.

    Hi,

About the lineart, my first thought was you forgot to remove it. Sometimes I forget also

Now, I have checked the light influence. According to the point 1,4 and 5, I think the light cames from above. But in point 2, besides there no shadow of the book, you have used a strong black surround the piece. In point 3, the shadow is if the light cames from left side.

o.k. this is the kind of Critique center comments that seem to be repetive and I honestly do not get this lighting stuff, light is crazy, it bounces all over and all around on and off, their is ambient lighting direct lighting, and you can see images with stronge light from one angle and soft light from another and then ambient light to top it all off, not to mention the fact that this guy is a magical being and his throne itself eminates a special devine light
as depicted in some of carravagio's work, thanks for taking the time out to look at my work and help me, sorry if I came off rude at all

Sorry, that wasnt a good response, your comment was actually pretty good, I was trying to just be loose on the lighting and just try to make sure
it looked plausible enough, That was a very thoughtful thing to take it into photoshop and do the paintover and spend so much time to help me figure out
the line work and the lighting, I appreciate fully

    Well,

I talked about the light sources because I didn't know about the divinity of the figure. I simply supposed you were working on the academic way of it.

n.p. You are completely right to think that because I didn't point it out that I was going that way, however for you not to get that is my problem in not being able to present my idea effectively. I checked out your sketchbook nice stuff, I like the knights thing,...obviously as that I paint them too

    Hi,

Thanks for visiting my SB. Did you liked my knights? I did not painted that, because since from the beginning, it was not my intention. It was just an idea of a character for a comic books story. In this moment, I am creating more like that, but using real clothes and weapons. I will post some of these in my SB later, would you like to check it? If you have interest on painting it, let's talk.

I have just another point in your painting. It is about the symmetry of the throne. You painted some details on it, I suppose that it was probably handmade directly in stone. But, as a powerful figure, I think he would like to have the symmetry of these details as much perfect as possible.

    Best regards

wow wasn't expecting an impressionistic drawing,,I might be wrong but I don't think he started his paintings with drawings, I think he would just block out shapes and hues and values and work it up to that impressionistic level. we can try it out though im game
