How to make something look vintage?

Um, here's the deal.. I'm giving my parents a nice little christmas gift. It's a repainted version of 'Bonaparte crossing the great St.Bernard's pass' where I've replaced Napoleons face with my own.

I'm planning on printing this wonderful piece of egoistic artwork on a A4 photopaper with a photoprinter. And frame it afterwards, of course.

Now the thing is I want the "photo" to have sort of a rough surface and some texture, like an oil painting, and I thought I'd check with you guys if you had any ideas on how to achive this? Mr Bean painted a poster with raw egg in his feature film.. Would that work?

And no, I won't show you the picture, sorry :o

Hey Cobra! I'm not a master at this sort of thing but for the long run I wouldn't suggest the raw egg. I would suggest, if you just kinda want a texture to it and stuff, to use a clear gel medium. It is usually a mix-in for oil paints to thin them out and also used for glazes. You can just paint the medium itself on the pictures and it will leave a nice "brushwork" finish over it. You would probably want to test it first on a corner or something to see how it reacts to the photo ink. Just an idea.
