Nice stuff I like the anatomy studies a lot they look very clear and not messy unlike mine.
Can't really crit anything aside form the self portrait, I think the proportions are a bit off the eyes are closer to the halfway point between the head and the chin, I do like the way you've drawn and shaded the area around the eyes though.
Anyway good work try and update more often though.

And here's the last part, just a quick hand drawing.

This is the third assignment in the book; "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain," by Betty Edwards. I gotta say, I learned something new today, and it's actually blowing my mind right now. The reason why the first pic is upside down is because that was the point of the lesson. The left side of your brain uses logic and simplifies parts into shapes, which is why many amateur drawings always look the same. However, because the Picasso drawing I am copying is upside down it forces my brain to think using the right side of my brain, meaning I am drawing purely what I'm looking at. This is really working.... and it's making me really excited.

This study took me a couple of tries, I was getting seriously annoyed to the point where I had to step back and collect myself. I couldn't shut my brain up quite frankly, once I told myself "Fuck it, just draw damn it," I was actually able to finish. I guess this is what Betty meant by making the cognitive shift to R-mode, it's been a long time since I had peace and quiet in my head while drawing.

Hands, Hands, HANDS!!! My first four look GOD awful, I was too self critical during those moments. Once I loosened up and let my mind's eye do the work, I started to enjoy doing these studies. In the words of Tony Robbins - "CANI." Constant and never-ending improvement, my life's goal.

Really nice hand studies, Eugie! I say you're making great progress with them, and yeah, sometimes you just have to tell that little voice to shut up. I tend to just let the muscle memory roll and a lot of times, it auto-corrects itself if something looks off. Sometimes, that's the only way anything gets done, lol. Hands are a tricky beast - so are feet! - but the more you draw them, the easier they get. Keep it up, and glad to see you're still chugging away at art!

Haven't been able to post, let alone draw, ever since I hurt my back. But I sucked it up and drew through the pain, gotta get some studying done. After all, it's all about progress.

Some quick Bridgman studies, just to warm up. Then I tried drawing from memory again, I ended up redrawing one of my character concepts from long ago.

You're lines are looking good, although I would suggest introducing more straight lines. You're using a lot of curves right now, which actually makes things, especially your figures, look really unnatural. Anyway, keep it up.
