    Walking in the sun

hello this is my first thread here. The work here is a huge inspiration. I'm just diving right in with a new piece I started around 30 min ago so there's not much to show, but i need to start this post to keep me going.

I spent spring break in miami beach & the colors of the buildings & everything is so different to what I'm used to seeing in LA & SD. so that made me want to try this out.

    of course c&c are loved.

Hey there, cool color rough. quite vivid!

I'm not sure where you are planning to take this but, if your aiming for more depth/3 dimensionality you need to adjust the value and saturation of your colors. Assuming the blue side of the figure is the shadow side, that blue needs to be darker in value and less saturated to indicate shadow and not a change of local color. Also, instead of being so blue, you might want to experiment with a purple since the flesh is pinkish and that red should be represented somehow in the shadow color.

Also, to make things less mushy (if your interested in that) try and use a sharper shadow edge to describe the forms of anatomy within the figures silhouette. You're doing it somewhat in the arm, it would be nice to see it that way all over.

    Hope that helps, Rock on!
    ...my humble and uneducated opinion.

    Hey,

Liking the colors so far here, like Mute said, very vivid.

Now, not sure if it's a style preference, but the anatomy on the figure is a little contorted around the waist area. I'd suggest looking at a few photos to freshen up your memory and make a few adjustments to make the body flow more naturally. Looking good so far though, can't wait to see the finished product!
