Eric Maruscak ADS - "Almost Daily Sketches"

Hey everyone, most of you know me from my giant chalk art murals that I post on here after convention appearances. Lately I have been trying to find time between HUGE projects to get back to my love of drawing and illustrating, plus build my skills and get myself into a more consistent workflow. So I have decided to start an "Almost Daily" sketch thread (the "almost" giving me a nice loophole, so don't be surprised if there are gaps).

Below is a quick rendering kind of inspired by "Where the Wild Things Are." This took about an hour and 15 minutes. This was drawn in Corel Painter mostly using the charcoal brushes. I plan on doing a number of images using Painter as I really like the sketching tools. More to come over time, and feel free to check out all of my art at my blog at http://www.pepperink.com.

The second in my Almost Daily Sketch series, a Frankenstein's Monster inspired illustration. I wanted to to see how far I could exaggerate the size of the head and have it still be visually acceptable.... then I took it just a little bit farther. I had a lot of fun with the detailing and the shadows. Made in Corel Painter using pencil and charcoal brushes, approximately 2 hours.
