just had a quick look through your sketchbook and you have lovely work. Especially love that last portrait above

how do you motivate yourself to do all those studies? I get too impatient even though it's helpful in the long term

Good job.
Your batman piece has some good stuff in it, maybe could have tried something more interesting with batmans straight leg though.

A bit of a crit- the silhouette of the head could have been more interesting from a bit of a different angle, the brow could have hung over, the teeth could have jutted out for a bit of contrast in shape.
Shapes are as important in rendered work as they are in flat work like your hipsters dream piece.

Thanks Amy, I would hardly say I'm motivated ha ha, I'm at uni at the moment so most of these are for assignments

Thx Bros, yeah Batman was a bit stiff, I have tried to look at more dynamic poses for this next piece. That is a good point Adam, I actually had a first drawing of him with his mouth closed, i though I pushed the paint a little but it definitely could have been pushed and styled more, bit flat

Anyway here is what I am working on today, my Sorceress WIP so far, need some hand and leg ref before i proceed, she still seems a bit stiff

Thanks for the support Lakka, we got to keep pushing ourselves hey don't want to get stale

and i'm glade you like the environment, i thought using a more traditional brush would help aid in the rougher blending of form and colour.

Wow Velocity Kendall, your work is amazing! Very inspirational. and yes i painted the objects from observation. I thought it would be more challenging than a basic photo study. and I was right took me 9hrs. So thanks
