Hello, I made an account here a long time ago, but I was never really around. Anyways, i decided to start up a sketchbook here. My story: I'm 21, 3rd year majoring in Art Studio. I was started out as Computer science and engineering major, switched to art sophomore year. I've been painting for maybe about 2 years. I think i want to get into concept art.

I want critiques, critiques and more critiques. PLEASE RIP THEM APART!!! Any comments regarding concept art are also welcome.

The first one has potential to be a breath taking environment. It needs more time to form, more days of accumulating painting. The second one is an interesting concept but her skeletal, stringy body, vaguely drawn facial features and smile seem irregular to the scene. I feel like a vacant expression from a pretty woman would be a lot more effective in both the conceptual sense and the execution sense. As is, this curious lady in a red dress looks like a drunk woman dancing for her husband, who took this picture.

I'd like to see what you turn this into. I hope any comments have helped, sorry if I crossed any lines in my criticism.

I love that you're doing these quick b&w digital studies of people around you. You might try including a block-in of the shapes and values behind the figures. Its very difficult to judge the values on the figures against solid white. Keep it up!

Keep pushing yourself. I feel like your faces need a lot of work still. The body proportions on the studies look 'aight, but the faces are still subpar.

I like your loose style a lot, that one with the barguy has a wierd angle but perhaps that is what makes me like it. Nice!

your studies are looking great-- in some of your drawings your people have very stiff arms,maybe practice some gestural sketches of arms+arm movement
