15 minutes speed paint from reference

Redid a panel that was bugging me

another 15 minute speed paint from reference.

More work on that page, mostly the same panel as last time.
I need to make more time to draw. Been having more trouble than usual with that recently.
I need to take the time to finish this... Probably won't happen before Wednesday.

Decided I didn't like another one of my panels - Clearly I've let myself work on this page too long.
In any case, sketches for a replacement panel:

Had some readability issues pointed out to me and figured I'd try another design for the page. Here's one idea:

Maybe the violence / struggle lacks a visual punch? Maybe the action could have a bigger panel conveying the intensity of the scene? Try being very attentive on the perspective as well.
All the new ideas are very rough - I'm still figuring out what I want to do. I'll try varying panel sizes more next time.
Today's thumbnails and idea sketches:

Thumbnail that I spent too much time on. Played with panel sizes, poses, backgrounds...

Working out the poses for the big panel

Started on the new version of the page

Changed the first two panels - they were too static and repeated in the third.

More work on that page

nice sketches.. u should read "how to draw the marvel way" its a bit old but not outdated i'd say, theres some great advice on perspective in it. keep it coming!
I'll add it to the list of books to read more thoroughlyThanks.
More work on that page

Taking a break from working on that page - Some quick character ideas

Spent a bit too long getting that hand to look decent...

Hey Hawk,
Some nice work in here, I like the panels, there's a lot of action and the story reads well. Nice improvement since the beginning of the book too.
One thing though, when you do studies, spend the time understand them before you move on and I'd also love to see more finished work from you
Take care and keep it coming

I need to do more studies, I think. I should have more time in a couple months to spend on art. Is there a better way of attaining understanding than study -> attempted use -> find errors -> study of things that aren't understood yet? generally I think I've got a decent handle on whatever it is when I stop (or I ran out of time...) and this seems like the best way to figure out where I'm having problems. I've been struggling with finishing things for a long time now. I'm working on it but I haven't mastered time management yet and my schedule is still pretty full.
Thanks for the comment!
Polished a bunch of panels, played with expressions, lot's of cleanup and tweaks. I kind of think I'm reinventing the wheel in terms of order of operations but I'll probably learn it better this way.

Another speed sketch from reference - about 13 minutes
