Another hand. Pretty sure I swapped from using one eye primarily to using the other partway through, which was a mistake with a subject as close as my hand. Should choose a viewpoint from the begining and stay consistent.

Wow, it's been a long time. Still getting better bro! Great too see your still smashing out heaps of studies.
Glad to hear about the improvement! Clearly I need to look back at what I've done
Another hand.

I like the expressions on your characters. Technically you've got some ways to go, but the overall feel and the mood of your paintings are fantastic. You'll make a great concept artist.

Returning to an old character design.

A bunch of practice faces. Need to get back into more observational drawing, seems like. Particularly at the more extreme angles.

A quick walk cycle, in silhouette and with more structure. Figuring out some 2D character animation for a video game. Spent most of my time today figuring out the programming.
![]()
Starting to figure out the walk cycle. Though actually being able to see the animation would be nice. Time to find a program that does that - Photoshop doesn't seem to.
![]()
Figured out how to animate in Photoshop. Still not the best option - I managed to crash it twice and timing on the gif it exported wasn't what I'd used. Still, here it is.

Another try, just the legs. Still using photoshop.

Nice legs!![]()
Trying to figure out how a character moves. In a more static way.

Working on character interactions, particularly combat.

More of the same.

And more. Tried starting with the placement of the feet in perspective for the first figure to aid in placement of the second. Seems like there's something to it...

Still working on combat interactions.

This is the most bizzare SB I have ever seen. I just dont see what you are learning.
It is fairly random, yeah. Something more directed is a good idea. I'll have to see about coming up with a sort of lesson plan.
That said, practice is practice, and I intend to keep it up.
More hands:

Still random. Working on figures interacting (with perspective grid for placement help, though I turned that layer off) and hands.

Skimmed through all of your sketchbook and really enjoyed your strong graphic style. You look like a natural comic book artists to me. If I had one small crit it would be to take a look at the teachings of Glenn Vilippu, Michael Hampton and Mike Matessi. All of these learned teachers have their own way of explaining how to use techniques to better draw human figures from imagination. Lotsa sustained effort in your SB man, Good goin and keep postin.

What's taters precious? Po - tay - toes!
Awesome! I'll have to look those three up. Again, in the case of Vilippu.

Playing more with superhero designs.

I second the Michael Hampton suggestion, I just got it and it's awesome.
Don't mind the doubters, your sketchbook has always given me some juice to keep going
Keep up the great work!
Hampton is definitely on my list. The quick glance at his stuff looks pretty interesting.
Always great to hear that I'm inspiring people
