Does anyone of you still have the manual? Because the original manual isn't online anymore.

Now crit the shit out of me!
Yes,
It wasn't so much a manual since it was someone's blog post.
http://www.zimbio.com/Graphic+News/a...adjustment+pen
I've built a little utility which does on the Mac what Karel's Tablet Pressure tool does on Windows (or did). It works directly on the preference file so it 'should' work for any Wacom tablet provided only one pen is set up. And it is Snow Leopard ONLY.
More info at Modbookish, a Modbook forum.
(If you have a two pen setup on your tablet, I'd be interested to see what your preferences file (com.wacom.pentablet.prefs) looks like. If I knew how Wacom arranges the file for multiple pens, I'd be able to support them.)
awesome! anyone got a program for windows? since the other one seems dead (site at least)
With the latest Bamboo/Graphire4 driver, does this still apply? I can't seem to find the linear curve window when I click on Bamboo Preferences (it still says Bamboo even though I have a Graphire. Go figure). Also, I went and checked the Pen_Tablet.dat on the new drivers and they don't look like the old one anymore. Can we still do this tweak?

Would anyone know if this works on an Intuos2? I had a similar problem with Brashen where I couldn't find the .dat file.![]()
Do you really have to mess with the numbers? sounds tricky I rather use a program can't someone make one?( i'll pay for it even.
Finally I found a time to improve Tablet Pressure Curve Tool.
Why is XML (new config) support experimental and what does it mean?Tablet Pressure Curve Tool 1.5.0.0 Beta (for Windows XP/Vista/7)
+ Support for new XML based config files (experimental)
+ Default curve is automatically “Linear” (can be changed)
+ Default Threshold Limiters should avoid Lower Threshold 655xx values (driver overflow with non-common values)
+ Improved support for Windows Vista & 7
Tablet Pressure Curve Tool 1.5.1.0 Beta (for Windows XP/Vista/7)
+ Modified UAC handling. Now are Administrative rights required only for necessary tasks.
+ Improved UI - its now easier to understand what this tool is doing.
+ Limiters are now showing simple help.
Tablet Pressure Curve Tool 1.5.2.0 Beta (for Windows XP/Vista/7)
+ Small UAC related Improvements
+ Improved Threshold Limiter – Driver was resetting pressure curve (after reboot) to default with Lower Threshold set to 0.

TPC Tool 1.5.2.0 Beta - http://www.lab.envirex.cz/?page_id=3
I don't have much resources to test this tool on various tablets and configurations (and mainly with various config files). So basically if the tools finds compatible config file everything should work ok, if not program remains "greyed out". In case something happened there are automatic backups every time program modifies selected config file.
Since version 1.5.1.0 is improved UAC handling. So now is more transparent what is program really doing (no admin rights required for run). Program asks for elevated rights only for necessary tasks (starting and stopping service, which is clearly displayed in confirmation dialog).
If you try the program and it will not work correctly, please contact me (post comment on my web pages), or send me mail (contact is visible in the program or readme file) with your tablet config file and simple description what happened or what is not working. I will try to fix the problem in next release. I'm using this tool myself (basically I'm too lazy to edit config file manually .o) ), so to make it working for more people is an automatic goal.
(Edit) - Info about version 1.5.1.0, 1.5.2.0
Happy painting...

Thanks much k_z. You're an asset to the community.
EDIT: I suddenly had this issue: Driver Tablet not Found when I try going to the utility. Anyone know what happened?
EDIT2: Never mind, I think I got it. I just had to hit Reset Changes.

I might be doing something wrong, I changed it to
81 0 870 1024 1740 2047
85%
and I didn't find it softer. I still had to press down really hard on my Cintiq to get a nice clean erase or a nice solid color. I have to physically move the slider to softer in the wacom properties to make it softer for me.
OK, just for sure, did you restart tablet service and graphics program after modifying values?
There is more (at least two) pen definitions (tip/eraser) in config file, so it is possible that you have changed the wrong one...
Or just try one of Tablet Tools mentioned above (depends on OS)...
i tried this today on my intuos4 and i must say it is a massive improvement, i was so sick of setting my driver to "soft" only to find i still need 100% pressure to get a fully opaque stroke, i was getting pains in my hand from pressing so hard. thanks
This works fantastic and it's almost silly how easy it is.
I have mine set to 70% and I find that I don't have to kill my wrist to get 100% colour and I can still get those really light blends!
Oh my nibs are going to love this!

please help! i really want to do this!

I can't be sure because (1) I'm not running Windows and (2) The drivers have been updated since I posted a walkthrough.
However, if it still works, my post is here in the thread: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...8&postcount=56
This shows you that the values you need to change are set using PressureCurveControlPoint.
Good luck.
thanks alot mate! i changed the values of the second line which i beleive to be the "TIP"
so heres to anyone else with windows7 and an INTUOS4 !! and got wind of this too late like i did...
the file is "wacom_tablet.dat" and you can just type that into the windows7 search thingy
copy it to your desktop.
if you google how to view a DAT file youll get shit.. like me...
just use notepad to change these convaluded values... or some editor.
and i beleive for us Intuos 4 users its the second row.
so see the red arrow on the bottom
there are 4 values at the end leave the zero and the one to the left of zero alone.
calculate 75% (use a calc and multiply by .75 for whatever values u have)
replace the value to the left of the numbers.
I can't seem to find a Wacom_Tablet.dat on my system at all oO

You might want to try an older driver? I use the Intuos3 and when I had 6.1.6, I couldnt find the values. I downgraded to 6.1.5 and found em. Hope this helps!
Thanks dudes! wish I had found this years ago!!
excellent tool.
hi, I wanted to change the pen pressure also in my Wacom Cintiq but I can't find the source to change it, I looked all over in this thread but I can't find one that explains of changing the values of a Cintiq, detailed...
Sorry in advance if I missed it, I really want to use this tool, to avoid useless over pressure on the Cintiq
I'm using Cintiq 21ux on a MAC OSX 10.6.8
please help me!
I looked for this also and basically the values are not used in newer drivers. you would have to try a older driver. how old i do not know. maybe try the driver someone posted a few posts up
Hi, since the original link is not there any more I was wondering if this is the same tweak:
http://3dg.me/2d-graphics/wacom-tabl...earing-intuos4
it's the same.
on the fourth day of glitchmas my painter™ gave to me
four random crashes, three broken brushes, two system hangups & one corrupted workspace
