A few digital WIPs and experiments, I've been trying to learn what this medium can do, it's frustrating sometimes, I feel a bit removed from the process after working alot with traditional mediums, but at the same time its so versatile, its been alot of fun exploring these programs. Thanks for looking
I've also updated my blog with some traditional stuff, figure drawing and painting. Check it out if you've got time!

bad ass!!! I thing that the mutiple limb studies are so interesting to look at... then when that idea manifests in your paintings... more...more..
Man, the lighting and color selection are just so wonderful. Really great variety in there. Why not post the traditional stuff in here as well! I'm sure we would all love to see it along these pages.![]()
you stuff is amazing man, and even more the drawings in your blog. You should get a scanner or something![]()
I agree with digital being frustrating.
I'm also just getting used to the process of the digital medium and the hardest battle I'm fighting currently is trying to get the brushes to do what I want them to do. It's nothing like holding an oil brush and feeling that nice stroke and then leaving it alone.
Amazing!!!!
great update!! moremoremore![]()

Nice stuff. I like the way you handle colour and the unfocused look you use. Thats something very hard to get right. I love the hand in the last one.
love this!! superb rendering in pencil!!
this stuff is so good it hurts. awesome to see it! you should totally get a scanner. the fingers in the picture are kinda cool to see the scale though! nice!
this stuff is really nice. the tones you're getting in the digital pieces are way advanced for how new you are to the medium. i'll definitely be watching.

dood...your work is so good! i'm amazed. so refined.
amazing sketchbook man! really really inspiringit was nice to meet you in dallas !
Be-a-utiful paintings mate. Your figure paintings on your blog have such life, and they way you achieve the translucent skin tone with that real vibrant orange-red. I must ask you what colours do you mix is to achieve that colour? I am assuming that it is so vibrant because it is part of the under painting or.....?
The only crit I have, is on the composition of some of the digital paintings. In particular this one.
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1240268090
I guess the main thing that stands out for me that element divide the composition up two evenly. I guess its the old rule of thirds. Things just seem so much more natural that way.
But yeah keep on knocking them out.
Peace"
Wow....... WOW!
wow nice studies! i really like your surreal paintings, and yeah; the whole thread is pretty damn interesting here as well! stars for you![]()
Nice work David. The first drawing of Raven is particularly good. I like how you used that one in the last painting. Do you often ref poses like that and then paint from imagination?
Or was that painted with the model present?

"There is no such thing as 'accurate drawing'. There is beautiful
drawing, and ugly, and nothing else." JAD Ingres, Ecrits sur l'art

These are so awesome. Makes my stuff look like stick figures. Truly an inspiration. I better get back to practicing so I can be this good. Totally love them all.
Thanks.
Your pencil work is stunning. Makes me want to work harder![]()
