mmm pirates. I'm cool with most things really... I tend to favour more fantasy type imagery, but pirates are a definate win.

    Will they be human pirates?

Sounds good to me too. At least if my internet crashes again, (grumble....grumble!!) I can sketch away now. Don't be surprised if I appear absent, I'm trying to be here!
I suggest we just sketch who ever seems best for us and go from there. If we all choose the same ones, we can follow up on the chosen best and assign work for those that were not drawn yet. Is that cool with you guys?

You can do fantasy-y ones, they could be pirates in a magical world, not just boring ol pirates.

as long as we have something by the end of the week.

    Sounds good to me Tross!

I think it will be good for us to come up with some sketches for the characters like Zim said, and then we can decide who does what and what sort of theme we will go for. It will be nice if we can put a design element into all the characters of some sort. If not, slap my wrists, its my graphic design parts comming through

Space Pirates! That way we get to do cool, futuristic type weaponry, not just cutlasses and old rifles and stuff, (actually, they are cool too! :-)) and we don't need to make them all human or any of them for that matter. What do you think?

Here is a quick sketch of the Protector. I know it's more of a traditional looking pirate. It's just to get us in the mood.

We could draw space pirates and fantasy pirates and see what works best.

Quick concept for the Hero. More dynamic than the Protector's pose.

Worked on a separate version of the Protector alongside the first. Not as keen on it though as he looks too old and weak to me and is it just me or are his hands massive? I might work more on the first one, especially the expression as he looks a little too worried. lol.
Let me know what you think team.
Looking forward to seeing what you have!

it seems like you have proportion problem, the hands are too big with the hinese guy and some characters have too long or too fat legs, my suggestion do some anatomy research and practice it.

Thanks Danny. Yeah I am aware of the proportion issues as you can see I mentioned the big hands in a previous post. Since these are quick wips just to get ideas out, I was not too concerned with fixing them. When I come to refine things down, those issue will not be there.

Hey guys, just to let you know that my granfather passed away friday and I will be off to his funeral this comming friday. Hence the lack of work and communication. Have some scribbles to show, but I need to get this out of the way.
