hey tommoy, I've been having a couple of busy days, so I will start on it tonight. Still great work, I will give a longer comment later!

Forgive me guys but I'm a drawaholic.
Hey were on page two![]()
New sketch for hero. She looks much more vulnerable now. Didnt gave her any armor;P. Don't know about the javelin though, maybe a small swort or a bow would be better.
tom, I think this hero looks much better! I'm also a big fan of the protector, maybe an idea, but could you try and paint him without the mask aswell?
the sketch for the rabble,
![]()
Daniel, you surprise me with this concept. I had something completely different in mind but this rabble looks great!
I have a proposal for the sage. Would it be possible if we all worked together on this character, I mean one sketch witch we randomly adjust. Don't know if this works but I bet its fun.
Yeahh guys coming along nice!
here are already some ideas for the sage from yesterday.
Delmar, those faces are ace.
Some face studies
whoa, tommoy, you crazy man...
I'm actually done with work early tonight! (8pm!) Gonna spend a few hours developing my sketch. Thanks for the question on whether I want to paint a pretty girl or a working girl... well, I want the technician to be more of the hardy, druid type. I want her to be cute too, but not girly pretty per say. I'll be doing some facial studies as well.
Be back in a couple of hours. You guys are rocking the world, I feel lazy... dammit!
D.Labruyere: That's a very lovely sketch! I love the costume as well as the colors on him.
Tommoy: the protector is coming along really well! I think some details on his many accessories would really make his fantastic costume pop, especially on the skulls. The facial studies captured the characters' personalities well. I'd recommend finding photo references on the faces (I don't mean copying photos) as well as the accessories - it's much easier to create believable stuff if you bounce off real life people and objects! I love how the hero is coming out, and her body language is very nice.
Delmar: the sage has a lot of character already! He looks the eccentric type. The dwarf is cool but the left version is that much more intriguing to me. He looks like he's walking on this really weird and cool device.
Detailed out the technician some. I think I'll officially start calling her the transportacianJoking... sorry, that was terrible. The mage. Mage.
Okay teammates, its almost the end of the week and I think we are pretty darn close of having all the characters basic forms. Well done all
Nightbleu, I'm one of those people who thinks the picture catalogue in his head is sufficient, yeah right stupid. Will use reference when needed.
I'm very glad with your sketch, it looks great. I only think you have to make more clear she is the technician. At this moment I'm missing the little details, the instruments and other elements that emphasize that. Also try to avoid she could easily be mistaken for the hero. I hope you keep the creature, watch the proportions however. Try not to make it the same size (hight) as the rest.
About the sage I agree the left one looks better. Only thing we have to keep in mind are the proportions each char has. We don't want them all to be around the same size. Therefor I think a dwarf sage would be a nice difference, against the big protector and the slim shadow.
Nightbleu and Daniel, if you find the time you can take the sage and add your own thoughts on this dude.
Progress on the hero.
Hero update.
Tommoy: she's coming along really well! I love how her face turned out. If anything, she is leaning ever so slightly to her left - if she is putting any weight on the spear at all, she should be leaning slightly to the right. A quick rotate or transform would do the trick. The thigh of her right leg also looks a bit long-ish.
Nit-picking aside, she really looks awesome! Her eyes are especially captivating. I had to work overtime again this weekend, but I'll pick up the pace again soon.
Thanks Nightbleu. I've made some changes on the hero. Also I've bin searching for some different kinds of clothing. Don't hesitate to modify, add or do whatever you think that could improve the sketches I've made of the hero and the protector. Looking out for your progress.
Hey Tommoy...great progress! I was on easter holiday at home, but now i'm back in business!!
We should also work out a little bg story, to get the costumes, gadgets or weapons more believeable and personally.
c u soon guys!
Couldn't let the protector rest.
hey guys,
great updates. Im sorry, but I won't be that active this week, because I'm suddenly in the middle of a movement! I will have more time after the next week, so Ill be active again then, though I still have to figure out a place where I've got internet, but that shouldn't be to big a problem.
Ill try and finish the rabble tho'
Hey Daniel, hope you'll be able to join in soon.
I've worked a little on the sage.
Tommoy: sweet work so far! I need to sleep but will try to give helpful comments tomorrow. Damn, you are really working it.
Colored my person very roughly. I'm trying to use the color scheme Tommoy is using, but give it more flair as we are talking about a magic user after all. When I get the chance I'll try a green, druidic version.
Nightbleu, now we are getting somewhere. This looks very good, it has a nice bright touch. The combo gold red works great I think. The design of her headpiece looks great to, she looks like an important person. Some crits, her left leg seems a bit off. Also I,m still missing a real technician feel. I'm not sure about the golden shoulder plate, she is no warrior so why is it there. Maybe some golden tools instead would be better. And what would you think about giving her an animal, lizzard/bird like on her shoulder?. Just some thoughts.
Tommoy - I intend to include the creature like the sketch ^^ just working on the character right now. I also don't believe that she needs to be a technician - in the brief, it is pointed out that you can go with magician instead, which is where I'm going since I expect to see lots and lots of wrenches etc.
I'm thinking about adding more shamanic flair, with trinkets and such that feel techy without being tech. You are right about the armor - I added it solely because we are going for the african + medieval armor theme, but maybe it can be much more subtle than that.
My screenname is "blue" like the color, btweven though I do like cheese. mmm cheese.
On your protector: I love the addition of the really long horns that look like real bull horns. Using parts from nature is a good way to add that tribal feel we are going for. I like the version with arm armor too.
As for the hero, I love your designs of the staves, but it makes her look more like a caster. I don't recall there is anything specifically contradict that in the brief, though I do like the tribal feel given to her with the spear. As a more common weapon, the spear also makes her look less seasoned, which is what I believe we are going for. If you want to make the spear cooler, though, I'm sure we can make up something. Plenty of heroes pick up badass weapons before their first fights in fictions![]()
Hey guys what's up!
Tommoy...the idea of a dwarf like sage is great. i image him as old but very alert and agile. His powers and intentions are not really evident to the other members. When in trouble he is the first who pulls out, under his "giant" (in relation to him) one shoulder cloak.(see sketch)
Nightblue....Coming along nice! Maybe we could see her as some kind of alchemist.
I'm not sure about her age though....right now she looks like she has the same age as the rabble rouser, the hero and the shadow........i think she could be much younger than the other guys......maybe joining the group to to travel around and learn more about "Alchemy" (not alchemy, but i have no other word for it right now)....she could be the one who loosens up the group a bit, to get some funny moments. Like she tries out a new formular by mixing certain materials together and everything explodes...ha.....well, i know that's kind of lame..........but in that direction.
So i made a more detailed dwarf-sage sketch yesterday and random african girl sketch..i like the hair of her maybe we can use it on the hero...tell me what you think!
i like both...but the dwarf is just amazing i would love to color this guy or see him colored
He, he.. Obstbrand, would you like to be in our soup
Delmar, I like where you are taking the sage, specially like his face and the big hands. The big cloak is a great attribute that you've worked out fine. The other one could easily be the shadow or the rabble rouser. Great belt. Why not give her some legs so we see the whole picture
.
Nigtblue, sorry about mixing up eee's and uuu's, I'm from cheesecountry Holland.
Can't wait to see your tech magician and the creature come to life. About the weaponary, we can try to think of a certain style weapons that have African, medieval and magical elements. I for one will try to make some sketches for this.
Btw, if you guys and girl would like to add or change things on the hero or protector just do so, we need to get the best result we can.
that would be a honor, lets go cookin' \o/
Just some weapons to fight boredom.
Tommoy: great sketches there! I can totally see the protector wielding the crazy looking mace. Very intrigued by the bottom middle one too... never quite seen anything like that before.
Delmar: The hairdo is really interesting-looking. Funny thing is when i saw it I thought of Thai headdressesI love where you are taking the sage. Are you developing the previous shadow sketch more? I quite liked him.
Had another overtime weekend... must get moving! Good news is I think I improved on the pose of the "technician" - magician... I hope anyways. Also added more shamanic elements to keep her... shamanic.
Nightblue, thats really looking great, the shamanic idea is becoming obvious. The pose is much better this way. Are you still planning attributes in or floating above her hands like in the early sketches?.
