Got Ringling Fin Aid back. I received no scholarships whatsoever... not feeling very cool right now...

BUT here are some updates that made me feel better:

Wow--what a beautiful update. The ladies are indeed lovely, as is the sp on the first page. I hope you decide to go with Ringling, btw--I can't wait to see what you'll do over the next four years.

I really love the one on the left (the one with more of the body), especially the arm and the way it's dark against light.

These are great, nice range of values in the first one. Your parents need to get over themselves and let you work, cos it's obvious how good you're going to get if you're left to your own devices.

Can't believe you didn't get into Art Centre, but Ringling looks like an amazing school for illustration, they've been stealing the show at the SOI student scholarship competition...either way, keep this going and it won't matter where you end up going, your skills should be more than enough to carry you...

Awesome studies~~ The skin tones are really good and look very realistic. I also love the cast shadows. I think your parents need to stop being so obsessive... not to mention the fact that you are not a minor anymore, you're of legal age...! >_<

crown: Thanks but I think I'm going to go to CalArts. My friend however is going to Art Center. OH I read you're trying to get to SF It's lovely up here! Mostly moderate weather and not too hot.

GOD HELP ME! I'm really bad without reference. I can't seem to get the foreshortening for the arm holding the wrench and the legs. If there are more please help.

My partners aren't online so I can't bug them about this...

I'm doing the mechanic, tried to make her look less anime but hah not happening, my drawing is too used to it.

I LOVE her. She is very hot! The pose is awesome too. You just need to give her some tattoos on the stomach or her legs so she can tie in with the rest of the group! =) I'll give you some suggestions on AIM or on our secret forum later on~~ looking fantastic so far.

Wow, she looks great, Eromenos! I like her pose and I don't think she looks that anime. I dig her expression, BTW. Your flesh tones are amazing for the CG body studies - I think the second one nearly floored me with how real it looked - and your lovely girls are oh so pretty. I like your mechanical designs, love the foot on the same page, and the CG-ed girl next to the sketch is very nice. The comparison to before and after is a good one.

Just keep it up with what you're doing, nudes or not and parents not withstanding. I agree with the others - I think you're heading into a great future at this rate!

Rustveld: I use a moleskine sketchbook.

They have an awesome leathery black cover with yellow tinted pages and white edges They are totally kickass and you can find them at most art stores (xept for Michaels and Aaron Brothers) and you can find them at BORDERS

I bought my first at Utrecht (sent it to CalArts) and I got my second one at Borders. They are a bit pricey at I think about $18 for 100 paged sketchbook(thats about the size of a journal). I got the Borders one at $12 cause I had a coupon >_>

I have one thing to say about the mechanic.. No flipflops. Usually sneakers or some kind of closed-toed shoes. Otherwise I got to say she looks fabulous! I love your style!! Don't be afraid to explore it as well as everything else. Maybe the way forward is the way backwards this time

Thanks Shroudstar I'm glad I'm getting better especially on fleshtones. I hope it'll translate when I paint in oils and such since I really suck at those XD

So-naa: I got a regular moleskine sketchbook. I'd love to get the watercolor one but I'm not very good with colors. I'm trying to practice on computer before humiliating myself traditionally XD. Thanks for the suggestion on using other shoes and I did get into the school I want (CalArts)
I'm going their next fall for character animation SO EXCITED!

That's funny cause I started on the traditional. I liked cging because it reminded me of oil paints I'll tell you an awsome thing about those.. You can continually paint over and wipe stuff off. It's very forgiving. I think you'll bounce right into those!

Make sure to update your adventures in school too!! And you didn't answer what program you use for cging?

So-naa: I used photoshop for the mechanic thing. I usually use charcoal for figure drawing, i love mechanical pencils which shows in my work bc there is like no values in them hah.

SORRY FOR NO UPDATES. AP week, finals and FANIME (hah i don't think any of you guys go to it since its anime/manga) SO YES I will work more after graduation which is coming up in 2 weeks

sorry for lack of update. haven't been really artsy in the month of may but this is what i spent last week in june doing Since I'm linking from my blogspot just click on the picture if u want it to be bigger... i prefer bigger cause more detail.

This is my first cg with my FIRST EVER LAPTOP. it's a macbook pro :{D] my parents are unwilling to pay for college tuition so I might as well milk them for what they are worth with equipment.


And then I went to figure drawing last tuesday. I forgot my vine charcoal which is my preferred material so instead I borrowed happun's ink and brush
