Hey man, it's cool you wanna learn animation ! First, you should buy the book of richard williams " animator's survival kit" to learn the basics ( and more ) ! I'm also learning animation ( you can check my animation scketchbook in my signature :p ) Keep it up man !

its looking good so far.

if you would like some reference, i would recommend the book The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams. it goes through about key frames, timing etc etc that animators need to know.

another good reference is playing an animation that you like (dvd or quicktime video) and do a frame step of your favorite scenes. QuickTime is great with this cause you can have it on pause and just use your arrow keys to see how the action has been animated and timed.
