new piece critique

this is a still life i set up in my room. im curious on of how the composition feels and if the contrast is working. I like my detailed work on this but im not sure i captured the right atmosphere with the lighting and shadows.

I'm definitely not fit to give critique, but it seems like all the object are separated, because (i'm assuming) you drew them one by one. Also some perspective issues contribute to the feelings. The composition is okay, imo.

You do well on the individual objects, but the background falls apart in value structure and the perspective on things like the door is a little questionable. (Also, what are the ribbons? Were they really in the still life? If so, how are they floating?)

I would go through, reconsider your light source, and add little shadows here and there (like behind the egg carton) to push the farther objects back into space. That should give more depth to the piece and unify the composition a bit.
