really beautiful book rodrigo, you've developed a really distinct style since I last checked in. And your oils are simply amazing. Takes a lot of guts to put so much green into a painting as you've done with the pigeon one haha you've pulled it off fantastically. Also think you have particularly good edge control.

If I had to level one crit I'd say your compositions sometimes gets a bit cluttered, but seems to me that this could be something that help defines your style. Take that with some salt

    cheers

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've taken a little break for a few weeks, was busy with things and I also had a group show in Sydney which was a great experience.

" posted by surus: Thanks for the new artwork! Keep on posting! Is it possible to see such an amazing pencil drawing in steps?"
No worries, I took some photos of one for you below, but I'm afraid I changed the plan a bit as I went along so it's not very helpful

posted by 2kre8: your work is great, what size is the moleskin?
Thanks, it's small- A5 size, one size up from those really small ones.

anyways here are some silly sketches and things, I hope you like them and thanks for looking!

    Cheers!!

    Progress of above image...

Since someone asked I'll quickly explain it

basic gesture scribble with straightish lines, just focusing on proportion.
    Then transfer to final page.

With face, I put in major planes, for eyes I keep the eye sockets as a flat shape until the very very very last minute and then put the eye location/proportion, then render the eye socket, then iris, cornea etc.

thats how i personally do it, its a method based on years of failure, and im only just beginning to understanding things, but theres always more room for learning.

basically im not really qualified to really teach anything but i hope that helps/
